Under this circumstances why should I?for example at the end of world war 1 they made a referandum in the southeastern city called antakya(iskenderun)..People living in that city (mostly kurds and arabs) were force to decide about joining syria or Turkey.People had choosen new Turkish Republic.Today, under heavy provacation of minorities by foreign powers, there will be no just or objective referandum. If there is Turkish kurds will vote for Turkey..Believe it or not.The difference beetween is not that big as you imagine..Without interference of foreign powers kurdish problem in Turkey could get a solution easily.Pkk is not representing biggest part of the kurds. You have to understand that very well.
| This time they'll not be voting to join Syria or Iraq, this time they'll be voting to form a Kurdistan. And being Kurdish and stupid, that's what they'll vote for. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Also our Turk here has forgotten that Antakya (Antioch for us Hellenphiles) is nowhere near 'Turkish Kurdistan', so I don't even know why he mentioned it. Quote:

and what is so funny with Turkey winning WW1?What the f uck do you study in your schools?
| Treaty of Sevres? The fact that Istanbul was occupied by allied forces? Fact that large portions of Ottoman land were divided up amongst what you appear to think were the losers? That Turkish forces had to fight another war just to regain control of what is now Turkey?
What do you study? </BLOCKQUOTE>
They dictated us sevres yes..But that treaty was torn before it become real by Ataturk. The idea of sevres is still alive by creating a big kurdistan and big armenia.Since Turkey installed a new country and protected it is land, what does it tell you?In my book this is winning the war and independence..Europeans want to do what their grandfathers werent able to do.Divide up Turkey according to sevres which stayed on the table. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Turkey lost modern Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon and parts of Saudi and various Greek islands, and any claims to Egypt, Kuwait and the Balkans.
You lost, okay?

So how about a referendum on independence in the part of Turkey that has a large number of Kurds living in it? What most people would call Turkish Kurdistan, as compared to Iranian, Iraqi or Syrian Kurdistan.
-----Then most people will also call half of the world as Ottoman Empire or Roman Empire etc. Then everybody can call the world however suits their interests. The fact that there are no kurdistan yet.Whenever it is officially declared,in the same day it will be destroyed.
Why does Turkey want to keep a people that don't want to be in the country, that is hardly the democratic way?
---Why?Where do you know that?We woudnt allow foreign interference. It is simple as that.F uck the way democracy america and west wants. You shape up the word of democracy the way you want.America brought democracy to iraq right?
The Turkomen, Assyrians, Marsh Arabs, etc. have not been having a good time in Iraq recently, but what has that to do with the Kurds in Turkey, which was what I asked you?
---Turkey have many ethnical minorities,if everyone takes arms and attacks everywhere just because they are not treated fairly,is this something right in democracies?Which democracy will alow that? Will your country allow it too?Kurds always been speaking their language freely. This issue exaggerated by the west.Caucasians and other ethnical minorities speaking their language freely too. When it comes to education,it will be only in Turkish since they are living in a Turkish state. In Turkey there are many ethnic people having much harder problems than kurds but they try other ways to solve to problems. Not by spilling blood.
In 1913, Turkey ruled the Middle-East, bordered by Russia, Persia, meaningless Arabian states and British Egypt, by 1924ish, the Turks had lost all of that, and are confined to your present borders more or less.
-----Does that mean that we lost?We rised from our ashes..
You did well at Gallipoli and beat the Greeks, I give you that, but overall you lost quite badly.
| -----This is your short history knowledge..In gallipoli we didnt beat greeks..We fought against british empire who brought tons of soldiers from their colonies around the world. We also fought there with frenchs at the same time. They came to finish us and we kicked their ass badly. When it comes to protect the motherland Turks will sacrifice anything.

So you don't agree that if a people make a majority in an area of a country, they should have the right of self-determination? Why should the Kurds be ruled by Turks, when they want to rule themselves?
And you misunderstood the Greek part, you beat the British/ANZAC in Gallipoli, you beat the Greeks when they invaded Anatolia after 1918.
