Turns out the Justice album is indeed great.
And Simian Mobile Disco is growing on me too.
With new Chemical Brothers on its way as well, and Dan Deacon waiting to be explored.
electro-fest.
Anyone interested in Balkan Beat Box?

Under the spotlights
Neither black nor white
It doesn't matter
Do the DANCE (do the dance)
As strong as you might
Working day and night
Whatever happens
Do the DANCE (do the dance)

| I've been wavering over ordering the Justice and SMD albums. Albums by ace dance single artists are often disappointing (unless the artists is called Orbital), but a spotg recommend is as good as I need.
Liking the new Chem Bros single too, whistleable.
Now I do not know BBBox but am now interested.
Myself, have not had much time recently to devote to music (see OTF Parents thread) but have been enjoying Maconie and Ratcliffe on R2 each night. Only new album that has been getting a regular play is the strangely-Beatleesque offering from The Aliens, called Astronomy for Dogs. OK, so worse album title of the year, but some fascinating pop songs on there.
Ballad of the Book (Chem Underground compilation) is the best album of the year so far - awesome. (Though have criminally not yet got the Panda Bear one despite being on my To Buy list for weeks.)

I'm in two minds about that Aliens album. In some moods I'm quite convinced that it's utterly brilliant, and in others I can't actually listen to it.
Balkan Beat Box are one of these hybrid bands that are cropping up and mixing in Eastern European gypsy sounds with anything else they can get their hands on. Makes for a good upbeat sound, and I'm always a sucker for that sort of thing.
But don't take my word for it. theirspace
Nick Drake's Family Tree release has the lovliest version of "All My Trials" on it. A duet with his mother. Gorgeous, and worth getting for that alone - even if it is an almost track for track rehash of the Tamworth-In-Arden record that I already own (the sound quality is better on this though).

despite the pretty narrow sound band (heinrich maneuver could easily have been on either of the other two albums) i never really get bored of interpol. new album should be interesting.

| I've just listened to The National properly for the first time today. I do rather like their sound. Reminds me, in an excellent way, of Tindersticks.

| Yeah, I agree with that.
They haven't exactly taken a new direction with their sound but I don't expect Interpol to do that.
I'm definitely going to buy the new album, there will be always be some great tracks.

anybody else looking foward to iLiKETRAiNS?
Kind of selfindulgent, 9 minute long post-rock songs, like EITS but with the world about to end.
