i have just listened through the new help she can't swim album and i am thoroughly unimpressed. i liked their shouting and energy and stuff from before and they seem to have removed that somewhat. so yeah, not liking that.
I love the new HSCS, possibly even more than the first.
Also, finally got around to the new(-ish) EitS the other day, sounded pretty good on first listen, no real surprises there but they're so good at what they do.
Looking forward to new Interpol + White Stripes, but other than that I don't think there's much on the horizon from bands I know, recommendations appreciated.
spoon in town tonight and tomorrow but tbh I am just too exhausted to go see them. timbers game tonight, legions of errands tomorrow, timbers game and arcade fire concert sunday and the hold steady on monday.

this is one case in which I wish I wasn't quite so smug. cleaning out my office atm to start in my new office tuesday morning. totally awesome but since the promotion was a surprise, my plans to try to relax a bit this week are shot.
memorial day weekend is also when a lot of wineries open around here so I may have to play tour guide for some friends on saturday and drive them around "the pacific northwest's burgundy".

Also: Ted Leo's new effort pales so much in comparison to their previous work. gr will be livid but I unfortunately speak the truth, however much I want to enjoy it.
