i have just listened through the new help she can't swim album and i am thoroughly unimpressed. i liked their shouting and energy and stuff from before and they seem to have removed that somewhat. so yeah, not liking that.

i have decided i like emily haines's solo album, might go see her in june

i had to trek round campus hunting for my birthday amazon parcels today, which my foolish father sent to my old address. new tenants had already kindly opened the parcel for me by the time i found it, but i now have the field, joanna newsom ep, and of montreal albums, which is nice.

the other package, which contains the kompakt pop ambient compilation, has gone missing :*(

but oh well, i hope the albums i do have are as good as people have been saying.

The nice people at Amazon delivered Blonde Redhead's "23" to me this weekend. I'm really liking it. They've gone in a bit of a My Bloody Valentine/Slowdive/early Lush direction.

I almost got the new Apples in Stereo as well, but backed off. I'm told iqg though.

Justice - â€* has arrogantly stomped it's way into the category of absolutely flippin' amazing albums I have heard that were released in the year 2007.

It's how Daft Punk should've followed up the successes of Homework and Discovery.

New Chemical Brothers I'm undecided about. The track with Midlake is a bit spiffy though.

Also listened to the new album by The Young Gods. Apparently they've been around for years and iirc* it sounds very early U2ish.

*I was very tired by the time I got around to them and Pro Evo had crashed 76 mins into only the second game of the Nantes Master League season that I'd been winning out of the twelve games I've played so far. It's not that annoying really, it's not like the win would've gone a long way to sorting out the awful finances, or would've boosted the players' development, or would've lifted us to mid-table in the division. Also not bothered about both of our goals being absolutely superb goals turning the match around after we'd conceded late in the first half. I'm also not annoyed that the first goal was a perfectly flighted chip beyond the Nice defence that my 35-year-old striker VOLLEYED beyond the keeper who didn't even have time to move. Nor was it annoying that the second goal was a well worked passing move that resulted in my left wing back cutting in and hitting the ball high into the roof of the net, beating the Nice goalie at the near post. Not annoyed IN THE MOTHER****ING SLIGHTEST.
