The Field. Album of Year if you use their calculations. I've never heard it.

Was very underwhelmed when I saw Field Music open for another band at Fibbers a year or so back.

right, sounds like the knife. I like the knife though, so might be buying it.

Hadouken!

They may be ironic, they may be perfectly serious. Either way, they are awesome.

who said it sounds like the knife? i haven't got it yet but the tracks i've heard have been kind of ambient and subtle. i can't really imagine them alongside knife-like tracks

very, very wrong

could actually be the worst "new" band I've heard lately, tied with The Twang

pole
panda bear
the field
blonde redhead
Battles is crazy weird and i havent decided whether i like it or not yet.

Dan Deacon is awesome, very very good album

Panda Bear also excellent. Great listening.

The Field left me slightly underwhelmed after everything written about it. I need to listen to it more i think.

Linkin Park "Minutes to Midnight", suppose to be their best yet.

Nothing in The Field album that made me want to listen to it again tbph.

Looking forward to your reporting back Daaaaave..

I have spent the last month gorging myself on every Andrew Bird release going. The man is a king, and I'm gobsmacked that I hadn't heard him before the recommendation on here (thanks to beffrey and AJ for that if memory serves.)

With only a brief break to listen to the new Bjork and Cinematic Orchestra (Bjork, obviously, excellent, apart from one deeply annoying song, and CO seem to have ditched a lot of what I liked about them.)

Both from Sweden so it'll be your typical lazy journalism.
