Default hyperpspeed firefox

found on the firefox site.
I diddit, and it works like my charm.
To change, simply double click.
ONLY FOR BROADBANDCONNECTIONS!!!

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar of a new tab and hit return.
This way you will be able to read this by toggling. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
network.http.proxy.pipelining

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" without the brackets and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

It does!!!

Thanks for the heads up Eric [righton] I've just followed your instructions and things do seem to be moving faster. I'm off to take my new turbocharged foxy for a little spin.
Now in an ideal world I hope to be able to fix the bug that stops foxy from loading any flash content. I used to be able to view flash content on version 0.8 I think it was but since upgrading to the latest version (Ver 1.0) Flash just wont load |

I have v1 and have no problems at all with any Flash. Perhaps it's a pref setting that needs to be changed?

If you want to be sure you have the latest release, open the OPTIONS, then click Advanced, then click Site Updates, then click the "Check Now" button.

Thanks for the info and concern theKeeper Here is a quote from the Plug-in FAQ regarding this (just in case it happens to other people)
Quote:
When you install Mozilla Firefox 0.9 (or later) or Mozilla 1.7 (or later), you may experience problems viewing Macromedia Flash content if you had a previous version of Firefox or Mozilla and extensions installed to block ads or Flash. Examples include AdBlock and Flash Click To View.

Before installing a new version of Firefox or Mozilla, you should uninstall your previous version, and remove the chrome and extensions folders from your profile - but back up userChrome.css and userContent.css first if you use them.

Dedicated Flash blocking extensions will need to be updated to work with new Firefox and Mozilla releases before you can use them, as the Flash blocking code tends to break between Mozilla releases.

This problem is also caused by the Flash filtering code in old releases of AdBlock, and does not appear to require the user to enable it. Updating AdBlock to version 0.52 or later should solve this problem
I have tried this once but it was unsucessfull. I'm guessing it was down to my error in following the instructions so I will try it again in a day or two.
'tis a pain switching to IE for some sites, butI still lurve my foxy
