For those of us without the spectacles it was apparent last season that neither of these two players was able to command or dictate passages of play.
Somehow and primarily down to individual brilliance we managed to get 5th at the last count. That was a fantastic achievement which we all thought the addition of 40 million pounds of talent would improve.
But it is as clear as day that we still have the same midfield issues but even clearer to me at least that Zokora or Jenas needs to be benched with someone else playing alongside either.
Jol needs to decide which one of these starts and who we have that can compliment their respective talents.
It is obvious that some fans do not want to see what is in front of them but already the early morning sunshine has disappeared to give way to some unseasonal rain which threatens to be a downpour if our own meterologist does not heed the warning signs. Jol can pull all the faces of being unhappy as he likes but the only way to get that smile back on our faces is to get it right on the pitch.
I say Drop Berbatov back into a Attacking Midfielder position and play your best Defensive Midfielder behind him. I think Berbatov could adapt to that position and would be leathal setting up one of your many strikers
