Second episode was pretty good, perfectly watchable, Lewis doing really well in making me forget that he's not American.
Still a few things that grind at me as I'm watching it though. The whole confrontation scene at the end on the bus was just stupid. Evacuating a bus, in the middle of the day, in the middle of the street, just so you can interview a witness? Right in front of a probable suspect? That's terrible police work. Then the whole Bad-ass cowboy thing of just counting and saying that you don't want to get to 3, doesn't really work if all you're threatening him with is lying on him.
Lewis's partner is just too hot, it's distracting and keeps taking me out of the story. They keep putting her in revealing clothing for no reason as well. There was absolutely no reason for her to be half naked and in the gym on the phone that one time. And that whole apparant maneater part of her persona just screams 'afterthought'. And afterthought by a 12 year old boy at that.
I could probably do without all of the random 'Entourage' moments with the young girls throwing themselves at him, but if they're only going to take up about a minute of each show and rope in viewers then I suppose you'd be crazy not to.
Good addition getting Christina Hendricks in as Olivia, had a little obsession with her since Firefly.
Yeah, pretty good. The brief moments of him working on his conspiracy good enough to keep me watching on their own.

I'm definitely into the show already. Usually it takes me a long time to warm up to a show and go out of my way to watch every single week, but I'm into this one from the start.
I never had the tolerance to watch 24 or CSI or anything like that, so this is a rare chance for me to get into a show that makes me think, instead of my normal tv viewing which is always either a news show or something light like the Simpsons or Jerry Springer.
I knew I'd give it a chance because Damian Lewis was in it, but the premise of the show has gotten me hooked in as well, the "whodunit" aspect of it. Admittedly, Charlie's methodology is difficult to follow at times when he goes off on his zen tangents, but I still enjoy learning about

I find myself thinking about this after each episode and it just seems impossible that so many bad character designs could lead to a successful show but have to admit that this is strangely watchable and i'm probably enjoying it the most of the new season series.
Enjoying the Zen stuff as its quirky enough to be oh so watchable but especially the friend in the garage (okay, so above the garage ) and the current partner, and even somewhat the chief seem to be badly thought out and just don't really work (feel odd, the chief especially feels cliched but can't for the life of me place it exactly).
Hopefully this will continue as good but can see it freefalling if the storyline starts to weaken as any filler will just be annoying and will show up the character holes.

here in Australia, we'll get the 2nd episode in 24 hours from now. the only thing that made me take any notice of the adverts for this show, and subsequently watching it, was Damien Lewis. He's class.
I really enjoyed the 1st episode, and have set my PVR to record every week now |

We need another good night tonight. Bionic Woman suffered a massive dip in ratings last week (more than 20% reportedly, not that it's all that surprising) and it could have an adverse effect on Life, so if Charlie can step it up this week, might help slow the rot.

I've only recently started watching this show...I think it has a lot of potential! Not sure about some reviewers commenting on the fact that it is 'House' for cop dramas?

| Basically saying that the personality/individuals differentiate it from the rest of the genre.

That car is nice
Loving how he keeps pulling over the wife's new husband So very petty, yet awesome. Also nice to see his partner start to be just that, even covering for him in a big way. Little plot hole in the fact that the chief finally had something to can him for, and didn't, but every show is allowed a few holes now and again. The coyote stuff had me in stitches, the accountant such a fanny
Lead detective from his case definitely in on it imo, his question of "why couldn't you just die in that place?" confirmed it for me. Before then, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he had just been manipulated, but that seemed to indicate a greater involvement.
Show got an order for another three scripts, which is good. Nice to see NBC keeping faith with all their new shows, giving them time to grow a little, although Bionic Woman will have to step up, and in more than a "more heaving breasts on screen" sense if it's going to get a season order, especially with an almost 50% week on week reported drop. Life dropped about 12% so far, well within the 20% prediction

Awesome episode, the lawyer strangely hot, considering the girls Charlie seems to have hanging around. Good to see William Sanderson back on TV, always liked him in Deadwood. Decent enough progress this week, obvious now that this season may be all about finding Rachel. This cover-up must go really high up though, which means we could be looking at multiple seasons to unravel it all.
