I've just realised that UFC has nothing to do with Utah or Fried Chicken does it :o

What a brutal, brutal card. I mean, they even had the back up referees.
Just an awful event.
Dan Henderson-Anderson Silva signed for UFC 82 for what I'm sure will be billed as "unification" bout, but Hendo's belt will probably tossed in the garbage before he comes to the ring.
Hopefully UFC 79 is better. Some good looking matchups.

UFC 79 main event officially farked... Quote: |
Matt Serra (Pictures), who claimed the belt with a shocking win over Georges St. Pierre (Pictures) this April, suffered herniated discs in his lower back Monday, forcing him to withdraw from his anticipated Dec. 29 title defense against former two-time 170-pound champion Matt Hughes (Pictures), the UFC announced Thursday.

Bet thats a killer for Dana White! After the MASSIVE lead up to the fight that is TUF, for one to get injured is really bad.
Anyone got an idea of who will be in the main event now? Will Hughes still fight someone? Surely it should just be a totally different headliner

| so NOT awesome. Say GSP wins, then UFC has put the division on hold for 9 months for no reason at all. TUF will have been a waste of time, and biggest feud build up in recent years is wasted, as no Serra, Hughes fight will ever happen!

TUF should never be about the coaches anyway. UFC keeps marketing it that way, but people are way more interested in the fighters on the show, not the coaches. So to say it will have been a waste of time is off.
It's just awesome because I want to see GSP fight again, could really care less about Serra/Hughes. |

Hughes would have kicked the **** out of Serra anyway, this will be a far better fight. When I heard Serra was injured I hoped GSP would be the replacement but didn't want to say anything for fear of jinxing it.

HOUSTON (AP) -- A mixed martial arts fighter has died in a hospice about six weeks after he was injured in a sanctioned bout, a rare fatality for a combat sport that is growing in popularity.
Sam Vasquez, 35, of Houston, was injured at the Toyota Center on Oct. 20 and died Friday. The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Vasquez's death, but spokeswoman Stacey Mitchell said it could be several days before the official cause is determined.
