England in 50 over warm up match as we speak and going ok - 275/4 off 47 overs - Bell with another century (108*) and KP & Cook with 50s (KP's coming in 29 balls). Mon the 'land
Australia also play their first test matchs sans Warne, McGrath & Langer so that should be interesting.......
Gonna be a busy few months for creeeeeeekit, am looking forward to it
Bell's actually been one of our better batsmen this year, vastly improved since the Ashes '05 anyway. Seems to be bang in form too, which is good to see.
England win by 80 runs with Jimmy taking 3 wickets, Broad, Sidebottom & Colly taking 2 each and Monty the final one. MOTM obv Bell but nice to see Broad pick up wickets & be economical after his last outing in an England shirt....
Muttiah Muralitharan has been ruled out of the first three one-day internationals against England. Mahela Jayawardene, Sri Lanka's captain, confirmed that Muralitharan's bicep injury had not healed.
"We don't want to rush him," Jayawardene said. "He's almost there, but we just have to make a decision whether we would like to risk him like this soon after injury. We will make sure that we will make a sensible decision." Sri Lanka's priority is to get him fit for their trip to Australia which follows almost immediately after the five-match series against England.
Saw all this advertised like a week or two ago on Sky, WHY so many rubbish ODIs that no one gives a toss about.
India vs Aus, SEVEN FFS, and not a single test. Why not?
Just seems to me that ODIs are taking over due to the commercial element and the odd test is being squeezed in here and there. Another example is England this summer, would've been a fb if they had made the Indian series 5 tests but instead we play 7 ODIs instead.
