| indeed. harbie went off on a keegan-esque rant after the game apparently re: the confrontation between symonds and sreesanth too. didn't watch the game, but saw some clips of sreesanth's mega-cuuntishness...

Supposedly the Aussies were throwing personal insults at Harby. I've no idea what to make of it myself, but seeing as I'm part Indian myself, guess I'll side with Sree and Harby |

Why England don't use a proper pinch-hitter is beyond me.
Mind you, I'm sort of obsessed with the idea of pinch-hitters.

| Well i guess Mustard is supposed to be out "aggressive" pinch hitter at the top of the order but because we inevitably lose early wickets he's now having to change his role and consolidate instead. Still, 19 off 25 isnt bad considering.

Still, if Mustard shouldn't be used as a pinch hitter because he does at least have some "normal" ability with the bat. Surely a pinch hitter should be someone who "just" slogs, which is why Neil Carter made an awesome guy to put in at the top - he had/has mastered the defensive block, but other than that, just thrashes the ball to all parts.

Sounds like Luke Wright, although he has choked when hes opened before.
61/4 now, seems like i was being a tad optimistic when i said we'd only lose by 7 wickets.

Dude, it's one thing having a guy like Carter close his eyes and swing the bat against diddy medium pacers in county cricket and another to try the same thing against international bowlers who know what they're doing.
