Default That Game You Know Your Going To Lose.

Usually its near the start of the season, when you come up against a poor team who have had a miraculous start(this season for me it's Derby).

I'm into my 5th season and every season so far i have lost this game and no tactic tweaking or HT scream at the players is going to change it.

I'm West Ham and after finishing 4th, 3rd, 4th and 2nd, i now possess a strong squad as good if not better than the "Big Four".

We won our first 3 games with ease and were 2nd in the table only to Derby and i knew thanks to previous seasons how this game would go.

Derby started the game quite attacking, so i used my away counter tactic and we were cutting through their defence like a knife through butter, only to watch my World Class strikers miss the usual sitters and the opposition's semi useless keeper fling himself from one side of the goal to the other like Zebedee on drugs.

Half time and its 0-0, with Derby's only effort a long shot from distance that headed for row Z. Second half and i dont change things straight away as we look like the only side capable of scoring and Derby have'nt changed a thing, so surely we'd get our goal?.

Ten minutes later and a few more shots for us and none for the hapless Derby, when a hoofed clearance lands at the Derby strikers feet on the wing at the halfway line. No panic as he has to beat 3 of my 4 quality defenders and cut inside and he's no Ronaldinho, but oh no, he manages to jink his way through my defenders who have more than a few opportunities to put in a tackle and scores a quite wondrous and Pele like goal(Derby's first and only effort on target).

Of course Derby then sit back and soak up the pressure, so i switch to my home tactic which seems to work, only we still cannot put the ball in the back of the net. With 15 minutes left i push the d-line right up, go all out attack and the usual need a goal routine, but for those last 15 minutes we fail to have even one more effort on goal and Derby survive the previous onslaught with alarming ease?.

It's the same thing season after season, the AI allows a poor/mediocre side a good start and if you happen to catch them in the middle of it, forget about tactics and the fact that the game is supposed to be unbiased, because you just aint going to get anything from it.

Oh and yes, of course the opposition GK got MOM, thought that was obvious?.

What I found with those matches is that the second time you play them you will beat them. Forget the anti-cheaters' cries, do it and move on!

No matter what team I've played, though mostly Spanish (Barca) over the years FM-gaming, I've ALWAYS had a struggle like that with Atletico Madrid! It really ****es me off! The only thing helps, is that real life Barca, have had the same 'syndrome' for the last couple of years... At least before Torres departed.

I always struggle at home against the team that is bottom and more often than not i end up ending their 25game winless streak, ****es me right off! I usually end up winning the league but all my losses are against form and against the poorer teams.
