What is the way to prevent your chairman from accepting your bid?
Alright I am in League 2 now, I have one created player who is tearing up the charts and has always attracted the likes of the big clubs, his value is about 2 million now. I have had offers of 10 million regularly and always reject them as I want to bring him up to the epl with me. once real madrid bid 52 million (! bug probably) and my chairman still did not accept on my behalf, so i thought, i should be safe. i tried the method of giving him an ultra high asking price of 73 million to dissuade people from bidding though.
now just recently chelsea bid 47 million for him and my chairman accepted! #!$!$ while its good money i was really banking on this guy to stay with my club forever. hes my talisman, scoring hundreds of goals in the past two seasons. without him... anyway his stats arent THAT good, only his finishing, technique and heading are 16+ amongst his technical stats.. and he isnt 16 in pace either...
now i have a save game from a few in game weeks back and am thinking of how to stop this from happening. how about setting his asking price to 0 and rejecting all bids? that way people wun bid high right? but i'll have to due with 200 msgs daily i suppose...

The only I have tried which seemed to work is that you immediately offer him a new contract. If the contract terms are sufficiently good, the player sometimes decides to stay.
But if you're League 2 and Chelsea come calling, you may find you simply can't compete against the lure of the Premier League.

If you don't want to sell the golden rule in fm is never reject an offer, ALWAYS negotiate. Just ask a stupid amount and they will walk away, it also has the benefit of not upsetting the player. If they do offer what you ask then just cancel the transfer at the last minute. This stops the chairman from being in a position to accept the offer.
