… and the winner is… ME! Yes, me. Why, you ask? I tell you…

I’m managing Leeds United, so I had to start with -15 points blah blah… it was tight, but after fantastic run (10 games – 8 wins) at the end, I managed to finish in top 6 and easily win promotion, so…

Coca-Cola Championship… I have fantastic team with quality players, I could easily be in top 10 in premiership… and the problem is, that I lose every single game I play, but not just lose… opponents are making fun of me…

Results:
Game 1 - vs. Derby: lost 6-1
2 - Ipswich: lost 5-0
3 - Hull: lost 4-0
4 - Leicester: lost 5-2
5 - Birmingham: lost 3-1
6 - Plymouth: lost 4-1

Total: 6 games; 5 goals scored; 27 conceded… that’s 4.5 goal a game! What the hell?? Am I doing something wrong? I have good training, good coaches, great players, I even bought an amazing goalkeeper, but in his first game he let 4 goals pass… got 9 in rating though…

I think I’m going to be sacked soon… any suggestions?

Seriously, I had this problem when I first played as Aberdeen. Couldn't buy a win. In the end I did give up and started again. If you'd rather not, maybe see if your captain can call a crisis meeting?

It's usually done by clicking on your captain and going to player interaction...so I've heard.

I'd also request more time from your board and change tactics or something.

It seems that my captain sees no crisis, so I can’t call a meeting… and I’ve tried different tactics but nothing helps and I don’t want to start all over again

I cant see the point in cheating, but hey its your game so play how you want to.

I'm having the same problem in my Luton game. Took charge of the in the 2nd season in League 2. Got them promoted but now i'm struggling big time in League 1!! I'm sitting in 23rd in late January and i'm facing relegation for the first time in the CM/FM career!! Cant seem to buy a win! Changed my tactic a couple of times during the season, called a players meeting, etc. But nothing seems to work!

I'm praying I can beat the drop and everything will be alot better the next season!

Gone are the days of consecutive promotion in FM I think! Get promoted, beat the drop the next season, push for play off the next is the wat of FM '08!!

Yeah... well said, now its not that easy as it was before...playing since 2001, i think, and im also facing relegation for the first time...

p.s. I’ve never cheated and never will, but it's so frustrating losing a game 4-0 or more

Your problem lies in your answer. Don't constantly try different tactics, choose 1 and stick with it for at least 10 games.

You've still got a ways to go to catch the all-time worst.

One of my coaches ditched me to become a manager, and lost 9 straight .. and I seem to recall somebody in the FM'07 records thread who had gone 34 games without winning. Which seems more impressive when you consider he didn't get sacked either!

As for what's going on, it sounds like your defense is conceding a spectacular amount of chances - if your GK got a 9 rating after letting 4 goals through, he had to have made a ton of saves.

So, I'd say look to your defense, and to your midfield (if you lose possession too easily in midfield, even the best defense in the world isn't going to save you).
