Default Photoshop/ImageReady help!

I need help with transfering my webpage design from imageready to photoshop

My Problem:

I design i web layout in photoshopCS then edit and slice in ImageReady . i save as optimized all my images and the HTML files are all together and Happy! ..lol .. but i guess i am looking for an easy way out! ... You see i dont want to have to make a bunch of tables and put every image in to place and in order. There are alot of images and also Rollover images. im looking for a FILE EXTENSION that transfers it from imageready and puts it in Dreamweaver MX 2004. so i am not creating a bunch of tables.

I found one file extension and its called ImageReady HTML.mxp its a MXP file. and it does the job great!!! i love it
this file works when i do a TEST VIEW of my page in Dreamweaver .. but when i upload it to the server all the files brake ... On the server when i view it in my IEbrowser the files are broken but they are all in the right place.

can someone please help me or tell me how i can make my life easyer .. remember im looking to transfer my ImageReady files into dreamweaver..

thanks

Your problem could be uploading on the server. You have to be extremely careful when loading the files to be sure they are in the right folder. You should read the html callouts when loading. Slices are a little different -- sometimes the html folder has to hold the image slices.
On complicated slices, I print out the html and follow it when uploading.

Also take care in how you save you files in IR. If you save the html with the slices too, then you just go to DW and make one (master) table that will accomodate your sliced IR html table for example have a (empty table space that will accomodate 700X550). Then in DW use "insert" to bring the whole IR file (html and slices in) there is no need for another application to do the job. When using insert you usually have to delete a bit of the duplicated html.

Or if you've designed the site completely in IR and don't want to insert it in a dreamweaver table, just save all in IR (same way) and bring it into dreamweaver (same way). It shouldn't be a problem, that is what makes me suspect its a uploading error. Again watch for duplicated HTML.

I'm a little rusty with IR, nowadays I'm using Fireworks to do slices however, I can help you, if problems continue zip your files and send to me, I'll fix the html and comment out what you need to do in the future to make a happy page that loads.

Watch also that DW hasn't changed the path of your image files.
It tends to do that if you don't create a specific site/root folder for your project. It will make the image path look like a hard drive path, ala: Cmy web folder\my web files\my web images etc etc etc...

Check the code in your html pages prior to uploading.

In this situation, your pages will work just fine on your comp, but not when online.
