Nope sorry can't agree with this at all. There are bugs, no doubt about it.

Tweaking tactics and training is fine, but for how long do I have to watch defenders simply wandering about, apparently chatting about the weather while opposition strikers race past them and shoot.

Nope, no amount of tinkering with tactics and training will fix that.

Have you seen the Tottenham defence lately!
My last post stated i was hasty in my comments and that there are bugs. But i repeat, u can minimise poor defending with the right tactics and why do people waste their time ranting when they could be playing all those other top quality management games, such as the late and not so great championsip manager

Ranson - In one and a half seasons I've had the defender running forward incident you talk of in another post. I was happy to put it down to the centre half trying to play offside, like a lot of slow defenders do when caught too far up field. (i can appreciate tho that if it does seem more common, there probably is a bug)

Well it's kind of interesting isn't it.

Maybe it depends on the level of the club your dealing with.

I am a Manager IRL and while we don't play in the EPL and most of the players are part-time pros, I would slaughter them if they defended in the same way as you see in FM2008.

I have always loved this game, and continue to do so, but that aspect of this game is driving me barmy.

Not to be patronising but you do have their mentalities, creative freedom down very low, closing down certainly half way at most, marking tight. are their marking roles suitable, i.e man marking only if they're not overloaded. Again just tell me if you've lived and breathed this for the last ten years.
