Hi Guys,

I have just installed FM 08 onto a top end Laptop, but as soon as I load the game the resolution of my screen morphs out to become massive and "blocky" if that makes sense, resolution is terrible and looks terrible all round.

Does anyone know if this can be changed as there does not appear to be anywhere in the game I can change resolution as I can run it at 1400x1000 odd pixels on the system I have and at the moment it is something like 1000x700 and looks lame.

I have trawled the forums to see if anyone has had a similar problem, if anyone could help I would be very appreciative.

1400x1000 & 1000x700 sound like really weird screen resolutions, FM native resolution is 1024x768 that's if your laptop monitor is square, if it's widescreen there's ways to change it just do a search on this forum, or play it in window mode.

My screen is somewhat bigger and more rectangular. I stuck with it for awhile then tried windowed mode, which is much much much better and clearer. Go for that.

Add a command line to the fm 2008 shortcut specifying the correct resolution of your montitor...
1st right click the desktop and select - Properties
then click the settings tab and find the resolution of your screen, as someone previously posted the resolutions you stated sound wrong tbh...
then right click the fm 2008 shortcut icon in the start menu...select properties..
where it says Target edit the command so it reads
"CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" -fullscreen_width=**** -fullscreen_height=****

**** being your screen resolution ie width 1680 height 1050

I'm sure someone else has posted it before anyway hope it helps

Go into preferences -> display and it should be a checkbox
