AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti insists recent signing, wonderkid Alexandre Pato, is better than Ronaldinho.
The teenage sensation joined the Rossoneri in August - a month before his 18th birthday - but due to Italian football regulations that state non-EU minors may not be registered in Italy, he is unable to play until he can be formally registered when the transfer window reopens.

But Ancelotti has been impressed by the Brazilian youngster's performances in training.

"Pato is better than Ronaldinho," he told Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Our new signing is a phenomenon.

"And with him I can maybe return to a formation with two strikers."

But elsewhere there is cause for concern as Pato's compatriot and AC Milan talisman Kaka claims that violence in Italy could see him leave the European champions.

"If things continue like this, even I could leave Italy," he told the newspaper.

"My wife and parents come often to the stadium and I worry about their safety."

It's great he seems to want to actually field Alexandre Pato, this is why it's better for young Brazilian footballers to move to Italy (or Spain) than to England. :thup: </BLOCKQUOTE>

Guidolin handed Palermo post again

US CittÃ* di Palermo have parted company with Stefano Colantuono after a 5-0 defeat by Juventus, recalling former coach Francesco Guidolin in his place.

Guidolin recalled
"I'm very sorry but these kinds of things happen in football," Colantuono, 45, said. "I think we were in a good position, with a good chance to qualify for the UEFA Cup [next season], but I don't want to start any kind of argument. This is part of the game. Yesterday we had a very bad day, but I think that happens sometimes." Colantuono, who arrived from Atalanta BC last summer, will be replaced by Guidolin. The 52-year-old first coached Palermo in 2004/05 and returned last season when he was sacked and reappointed before helping the Rosanero qualify for the UEFA Cup. Palermo are eighth in Serie A with 18 points from 13 games.

Lazio lose Behrami for Madrid decider

S.S. Lazio midfielder Valon Behrami is expected to miss his side's Group C showdown at Real Madrid CF next Tuesday after suffering a hamstring injury which will rule him out of action for between ten and twelve days.

The 22-year-old Serbian midfielder, who joined the Biancocelesti in 2005 from Hellas-Verona FC, missed Wednesday's 3-0 loss at FC Internazionale Milano because of the problem. Lazio coach Delio Rossi will, however, hope to have Guglielmo Stendardo, Fabio Firmani and Goran Pandev available for the trip to Madrid. All three are undergoing treatment but their injuries are not considered serious. Lazio are bottom of the section on five points and must beat Madrid to have any chance of reaching the knockout stage.

Dacourt could be out for season

FC Internazionale Milano coach Roberto Mancini fears losing Olivier Dacourt for the season following a fresh assessment on the midfielder's knee injury.

Surgery
The 33-year-old former French international was hurt during Sunday's 2-0 Serie A defeat of ACF Fiorentina and was initially ruled out for seven weeks. But he underwent surgery to repair ligament and cartilage damage yesterday, leaving Mancini pessimistic. "Unfortunately Dacourt's injury is a bad blow," he said. "We thought he would be out for 40 days but now we fear he will be out for the whole season instead. I wish him all the best; he's an extraordinary man and an excellent player."

Midfield woes
Mancini, whose side have already secured top spot in UEFA Champions League Group G ahead of their trip to PSV Eindhoven next week, is also without LuÃ*s Figo and Patrick Vieira in midfield, while Dejan Stanković has sat out the last two Serie A fixtures with a heel injury. "He has been struggling with this problem since the beginning of the season," Mancini said of the Serbian. "Unfortunately we haven't managed to find a solution. Sometimes he's in too much pain to play. We hope he'll overcome this problem as soon as possible."
