I am managing in the Blue Square South with Bath City in 2nd place on 57 points after 31 games, 3rd & 4th have 56 points, 5th have 55 (playoff cutoff) and 6th & 7th have 50. Title runaways Dorchester have 71 points, the game was 23+ points so I have closed the gap recently but won't close it fast enough so it looks like I will have playoffs (my aim is midtable).

Have just been approached for a new job, have accepted the terms with end of season transfer date, it's 10th may that means I can play the first leg of my playoff semi but I will be gone for the 2nd leg and final so I won't have the chance to win promotion with us

Is there anyway I can block this move or will it just chuck me out of City and into new club on 9th/10th May?

Would any kind of save game editors work to maybe stick my new contract date back to say 30th May (week after the final)?

I used them ages ago (FM06?) and it messed up my game so I have never used them since and don't want to unless they are sure to work and not mess my game up, want this to be a long term game now the patch is out.

Some people see editors as cheating (so do I depending on what it is they are used for) but this has got to be a bug? So it's just fixing it while SI are not

Yes, unfortunately they chose "End of the new club's season", not "After the last possible match for the club you're departing."

I do wish it were the latter, calculated as the day after the latest date of any tournament you're still alive in at the time of the deal, e.g., for England:

- F.A. Cup Final (if still in F.A. Cup)
- Champions League Final (if still in C.L.)
- UEFA Cup Final (if still in UEFA Cup)
- Playoff final (if playoffs are reachable)
- Last day of league play

Alternately, June 1st would have been fine with me - still enough time to make changes prior to the opening of the July transfer window, but surely after my last match.

I had the opposite in 07, was about to be sacked by ipswich for not overachieving (had come out of nowhere to win the league the previous season, and given the team were often lower-mid table, i knew whatever increased expectations were never likely to be matched, so I knew as I won that I'd probably be sacked a year later) so I did what I usually did, which was look for a new job, much to the annoyance and surprise to everyone, so I reloaded the game and resigned after the last game, I ended up going to verona, the thing is, verona were in the serie B play-offs so as soon as I arrived, I had to play in them, and actually got them promoted, not too bad for the first 3 games in the job. I know it wasn't technically an 'end of season' move, but thats what it would have ended up as hadn't the game made everyone so critical if you even applied for a job while still employed.

Yep same with me, think is with Conf North/South clubs, I think the FA Trophy final is late may, with 2 leg playoff semis for north/south would that be postponed, meaning that it would be played after the final? I don't know how it would work in real life but I know it's very close together, I would not be happy with the timing if we got to the playoffs and final of Trophy

The only thing you could really do is when you leave your old club, make a new manager who takes it over and make sure they get their trophies

Have just won my first manager of the month chasing down Dorchester's lead.

Have just looked at FMM under my name and I am listed as contracted to Bath until 2010, and no other clubs, looked at the club and there is nothing about future manager so doesn't look like I can change it
