If you're doing a network game I'm pretty sure it checks what version of FM both of you are running and they both have to be the exact same.

I'm the guy he's trying to play by the way ... thanks for the help but it's being proper weird ... the teams are showing up under different names oddly on his version and an error message keeps coming up ...

| Ah... he may need to uninstall FM, reinstall it then apply the 8.01 1st beta patch. If you guys have an existing game already you may both have to do that then restart your game...
