Got my copy through from Virgin today. Not bad considering I only ordered it on Monday, and that it's the Limited Edition for only £38.

Initial impressions are excellent. I'm seriously pumped about this game. Spent ages reading through the back story booklet before I played, and that coupled with the first few discussions with NPC's have really made me feel part of a developed universe. More so than any game in ages.

I already feel more emotionally attached to this in the first hour than I have with Bioshock (3/4's the way through that) and one story development in particular reminded me why I love these type of games.

Haven't really got into it properly as yet, but I'll get stuck in tommorow. The graphics do seem lovely, and I think I'm really going to get on with the combat mechanics. I've always been a lover of stat based tactical RPGs, and this seems to marry that with the action element.

From what I've gathered, you essentially play it like a action shooter when approaching enemies (a crosshair appears), but when you actually fire your weapon, your stats determine how accurate your guy is. For someone what's not a fan of FPS', I really like this system. You can direct your party members to run to a specific point, take a position alongside you etc; quite similar to Rainbox Six Vegas. Really looking forward to seeing how the combat works with different weapons and Mass Effect abilities.

The levelling up aspect seems easy. You earn points as you progress, which you can assign to specific abilities. I've started focussing on my pistol and charm skills (which help to unlock better dialogue options). I've been 'auto levelling' the other party members, which is something I tend to do in other games do, so that I feel more like their taking their own path through the game.

All in all, I'm really excited about it. More impressions to follow.

Just lost 5 hours playing this, time just flew by.

Enjoyed it so far, having never played KOTOR I didn't really know what to expect by like everyone else has said, the voice acting is fantastic.
Only problem is that half the time I have no clue what i'm meant to do or where to go, tok me half hour to find out how to move to other planets.

If you lose track of what you are doing the journal is your friend. It has all the main missions you have as well as all the side missions you have agreed to do.

I am absolutely loving this game at the moment. Its keeping me away from both Mario Galaxy and COD4 Multiplayer. I am about 7 hours in, and just completed the first main mission. I have been going round exploring all the citadel, talking to everyone. I think I am going to go exploring some side missions i picked up and maybe explore a few uncharted planets

Isnt there something like 20,000 lines of dialog in the game. Doesnt make it abit, well boring does it? Too much talking not enough action?

I find the dialogue to be one of the game's key strengths.

It's an RPG so there needs to be a lot of talking to develop the story. It doesn't detract from the game at all in my opinion. It adds to it perfectly. It's not an out and out shooter.

Loving it at the moment. Trying hard to say stuff about it without spoiling things really.

Grr.

Can someone tell me where the fourth bomb is during the first mission? I can get the three obvious ones. The one right in front of you, and two on the other side. But I'm stuck for a fourth and I've tired it three times now

There really should be a quicker run button when you aren't in combat.
