Something in an eliptical geosynchronous orbit doesn't stay in exactly the same spot relative to Earth, but rather appears to slowly oscilate backwards and forwards. When the satellite/station/whatever is at it's lowest point (the perigee) it's travelling faster than at it's highest point (agogee). I think.
If a geosynchronous orbit is circular and equatorial, then it's called a geostationary orbit, and the object stays in a fixed position relative to the Earth.

Great landing. Still amazes me how a shuttle can launch, be lived in for 2 weeks and land safely. Amazing peice of machinery. Never get bored of seeing a takeoff and landing
