It's back again, it's the official X-Factor thread, with a noticeable lack of posting after the auditions
Yeah so, starts at 7:40pm tonight, auditions will be as fun as ever hopefully. New format according to Wiki:

Changes to the format
The show's fourth run will see major changes to the format for the first time since it began in 2004. Producers of the show have regularly stated that they try to improve and expand with each series to keep it "fresh",[7] and this ethic seems to have been applied most strongly to series 4: "...the feeling is they want to send the fourth series of the show into the stratosphere".[8]
The bottom age group will now consist of singers between the ages of 14 and 24 (previously the lower age limit was 16). The 14-to-24 age group will be divided into separate male and female categories, raising the total number of categories from three to four.[9] Application forms were modified to require applicants to be 14 years of age by 1 April 2007.
Auditionees will now need a minimum of three "yesses" (previously two) from the judges to proceed to the next round.[10]
Series 4 will see all four judges work together at the bootcamp, rather than disbanding to manage their own categories. They will choose 24 acts (6 for each category) for the next round, after which they will find out which category they are to mentor. Judges will then disband for the "Visits to the Judges' Homes" round, where their six acts will be reduced to three for the live shows.[11][12]
Judges will now choose three acts (previously four for series 2 and 3) to represent them on the live shows, making a total of twelve acts competing for the £1 million recording contract.[13][14][15]
There will be a change with regards to the judges' votes on the live shows. In previous series, the decision as to which act got sent home each week was made by the three judges (since there would always be a majority). However with four judges this will no longer be the case, as there is the possibility of them reaching a tie.
[edit] Impartiality
Series 4 will present a change in the panelists' judging style. Simon Cowell said at the ITV Autumn Launch: "We tried to be bit more impartial as judges, and that, you'll see a lot more of on X Factor. There's still competition within the judges but our job essentially is to find a star."[16] This ethic is put into practice this series with the judges working together at the bootcamp.
