As an easy possible fix, if you are an IE user download firefox and use that, or vice versa? Might fix something along the way.

Installing firefox didnt work it still cant connect. Any more solutions im getting desperate.

did you try going into start and then accessories and then going to a system restore?

When I had a problem similar to that - I manually entered the DNS server adress from my provider into my TCP/IP protocol. It dissappeared, and I had no connection whatever browser I tried to use. Entered the DNS Server adress back and all worked perfectly
