And about where to get it, i always do ebay and you could get it cheaper there but as it's fairly new, the price isn't much below rrp anywhere yet. But if you do a froogle search for DS lite....maybe.

It helps to know something about video conversions and recording, but the software works well out of the box. Within an hour we were watching DVD movies on our DS boxes. Better yet, my boys both enjoy Nature programs and they have watched numerous episodes of PBS recordings of Nature - giant squids, eagles, sharks, and others. Next I'm going to throw in some history and science......
Finally got round to buying DS Lite.. Trade in for old DS is still 45 quid at Gamestation (you pay 54.99 which I traded 3 Xbox 360 games in for)
Have to say the improvement on the old DS surprised me... this console is ace :thup:. The only thing brick DS is better is the sound quality from what I tried so far.
