This is a bit of a PSA to anyone who plays Eve Online. Read this before you go installing the new patch and causing your PC to never boot again. http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingamebo...hreadID=651679
For the rest of you, due to an unfortunate wayward "/" the new fancy Eve Patch writes over the top of the system Boot.INI file. If the user then restarts their PC, they'll find that their computer will no longer start.
It really is the kind of massive screw up that destroys companies, and CCP aren't big enough to shrug off the potential legal action and stigma that comes from this.
Anyone here get affected?
| Yeah, i got hit by it. Someone made me aware of it before I logged last night but I was too tired/drunk to bother fixing it. Not that big a deal if you have your XP disc handy as you just repair the install, took me about half an hour this morning.

My strangest moment of the year was walking into a normally peaceful pub only (I'm guessing) to have walked into an Eve forum meet-up.
