| I'm not sure about Iaquinta even in a 4-2-3-1. As you said, the right hand of a 4-3-3 would appear to be his most effective position. We'll play 4-4-2 anyway, Del Piero dislikes playing as a trequartista even more than he does playing on the left-wing. </BLOCKQUOTE>Agree about DP; he never seems to sit comfortably in anything but a 4-4-2. You still do have Nedved I guess, but I think, seeing as you are building for next season and beyond, one who is 2-3 seasons from reaching their potential is what you need. But who? Trying to think global on this one.

Nedved may yet retire this summer - he'll decide by the end of the month. Either way, I think he'll be the one to drop out of the starting lineup and become a squad player.
Maybe Palladino will become his full-time replacement, with De Ceglie being groomed also...
Does Giovinco play anywhere but down the middle? I'm not too clued up on him yet.
Seeing as Salihamidic is still here, with Marchionni also, I think that the right-wing is sorted in the short-term, so that may be left until future summers. Left-wing may need some sorting, although Palladino did well when Nedved was injured/suspended this season past.

You're dead set on Nakamura, aren't you? No word on him leaving though, as far as I am aware. He didn't exactly set the world alight when he last played in Italy, tbh. Although it is fair to say he was on a poor team.

Speaking of Ranieri, tinkerman he may be, but he's pretty much a solid 4-4-2 chap formation wise is he not?

How was Marchionni for you last season? When he was at Parma he was so versatile and I remember a couple of good games in wide positions I saw.
