people always peddle the old 'shared ground makes more sense' sh*t. it makes no sense at all. these are two big, successful football clubs with tons of their own identity. oh, and they despise each other too. no sense whatsoever.

What has despising each other got to do with it? And if they have so much of their own identity and heritage, then that shouldn't really be threatened by the fact that the other team happens to play in the same stadium on alternative weekends. </BLOCKQUOTE>
deluded. so liverpool should get rid of the kop, hillsborough memorial, shankly and paisley gates etc.. just for a bit of economic sense when they have the means to build their own stadium anyway? everton likewise. i'm struggling to believe that you are a football fan. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Err, Liverpool are already planning on building a new stadium. I don't think they were planning on taking the Kop over there, but if they can take the memorial and gates to that one, there's no reason why they couldn't be retained at a shared stadium.
And you can struggle to believe that I'm a football fan if you like, but I'm a football fan whose club spent 97 years playing in the car park of the local cricket club. So I think I have some understanding on where the identity, heritage and spirit of a club reside. </BLOCKQUOTE>
new kop. and everton fans would be happy with a shankly memorial at their ground? give it up. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Considering he died an Evertonian I don't think it would be too much of a problem.

To put in bluntly, Everton fans dont want a groundshare, Liverpool fans dont want a groundshare and neither do the boards.

If you believe that you'll believe anything.
The fans may not want it, but Everton's board definitely do. It would be like a get out of jail free card to them.

In a word, yes. Better to make no move than make the wrong move and curse it for the next 50 years.
And yes, the costs for Scotland Road would be astronomical. I presume you're basing this on fact and not whatever "expert" Everton have wheeled out recently says.
Still not seen anything definite on costs for Kirkby. Seems to change by the week.
