do you have any of these photos online to look at?
| I don't have any of mine online yet... I have ordered my S9600 now though through eBuyer (£233 - not bad!), so in a few weeks I think I'll open a flickr account when I have a decent set.
I take it Flickr is the best site for uploading photgraphs then?

Ah this might be the best place to ask this.
I do a little bit of photography now and again for friends bands, usually just gig shots and a few promo ones.
In the next couple of weeks im doing a little shoot for a friends new band, a few bands promo's and individual shots, just for their website/myspace etc nothing big.
Now ive had an idea for a a couple of shots which has already been used for another band (for their website/myspace/flyers etc. Not on a big scale).
Now this idea im thinking about includes the band using products which have their logo on in various different locations etc.
As I say, another phot shoot for another band is very similar and obviously all the photo's have a copyright.
Would using this idea in a different way be seen as a big no no?

| I wouldn't want to comment on the legality of it, as I have exactly zero techical knowledge, but from a moral point of view, I'd be completely happy with it.
I take it the photo's won't be composed in exactly the same way, and that you are just taking the idea of branded items and developing it into your band's image? fwiw, I see no problem with that. If people weren't allowed to be influenced by stuff and take it in their own direction, we'd never see progress.
I bet the band you are photographing have stolen a fair few riffs in their time and made them into their own songs!! |
