How do i get from London Waterloo station to London Waterloo East station?

Are the 2 connected somehow? Going to Kent tomorrow so would be quite handy to know

On the opposite side from the platforms on the other side of WHSmith (I think) there's a big semi circular sign high up and two escalators going up further beyond that which lead to a walkway going straight there. You might want to make sure of which platform you want at the time (there are monitors just before the platforms and an information desk) because they dont half have a tendency of switching the trains around at short notice. If you're finding you have to make a long wait it might be quicker to take the tube to London Victoria but I guess that depends on where you're heading.
