where did i say animals shouldn't be killed to control them? Just dispute that hunting is the best and therefore only option.

Doesn't make much difference in terms of killing a lot of people quickly. In fact a properly handled semi-automatic will probably do more damage than an automatic - the ammo will last longer.

No real reason I can see for civilians to have either, bolt-action/martinis etc are fine for hunting.

huting probalby the most humane way to control animal populations, at least if you can get an instant kill.

traps/poisions tend to affect other species

My brother in law's friend owned an SKS, I got to hold it (but not fire it) when I met him at the range a couple of years ago. He found out his girlfriend was cheating on her, shot her and then himself. She survived. He was always a bit weird anyway, he illegally carried a concealed chopped Glock in case anyone tried to steal his rifle.

Anyway, I like my gun, I don't own it for any other reason than going to the range and target shooting is pleasurable, but I'm a raging liberal. Go figure.

My point was more a case of if the journalists involved can't be bothered to do five seconds of research to make sure their "facts" are correct, perhaps the rest of the articles should be taken with a pinch of salt when it comes to quoting them as gospel truth.

If this has been some bloke on the rampage with a kitchen knife, would folks be up in arms about Chroma?

The funny thing is this shooting incident is going in incresae America's will to own guns. After the VT mass shooting, all the talk was on how it would've been stopped if guns were allowed on campus. As apparently other law abiding students would've taken this guy out.

Anyway, I won't be giving up my AK47 anytime soon.
