No i think you'll find that about 3 people had 'went off on one' before i even reacted, when i did i just mentioned the Bradford stat as its the only time i've took any real notice of Spurs attendances.
Like i say i'm not bothered and the initial comment was made in fun - i took comments back too without even replying about Spurs attendances or anything of the sort - i'll reiterate it was not me who brought it up, but i'm the one getting the blame, thats why i'm p*ssed off.

Well, perhaps you should make it a policy to avoid Spurs threads in future. Then you won't get unfairly picked on will you?
I get misunderstood, told I've said one thing when I haven't, had assumptions made about me etc, etc loads of times. I take the policy that I don't give a sh1t - and it serves me well... perhaps you should too.

No not convenient, i was a Hoddle fan as a youngster and so with it being his first game in charge i took notice of the game - hence me being shocked at the size and it being the only attendance figure i can clearly recall.

Look i'm trying to keep out of this thread, but while every club gets good and bad press the london clubs get more positive press when things are going well for a start, certain players and managers get built up beyond belief.
For example i used a Chelsea/ Newcastle example from last season when Chelsea were being touted as championship challengers while Newcastle were ignored and pretty much the same is happening this season, they take the London club seriously and dismiss the N.E. club. Realistically neither will win it, but why then do Chelsea get all the 'Title challenge headlines'? The press do have their favourite clubs and while the journo's who write for them are based around the country, they mostly favour London sides.
It's the same with things oustide of football and always has been, choose to ignore it if you wish, but it exists.
Like i said all clubs get good an bad press - i'm not saying its all positive, but more often not up here we are ignored or subjected to lazy, incorrect journalism.

Im not sure thats quite right- when you guys were doing well and Phillips got 30 all the talk was of Sunderlands resurgance.
Plus to be honest Spurs have come under some vicious ridicule (some deserved) in recent years, and Arsenals disciplinary problems are another easy target- remember poor old Gross? Peter Reid never got the abuse and ridicule he received- some unfair as he inherited a 2nd Division side from Gerry Francis.

Yeah i agree with some things you've said, but say Sunderlands resurgence or Phillips goals are easy stories - Phillips goals for example couldn't be ignored. Same with a lot of the cr*p Spurs have had and yes i admit you have had it - more so than we have. But the moment you have a good spell, theres talk of Championship challenges and such, whereas with the likes of Sunderland and Newcastle we're usually patronised and not taken seriously in comparisom.
The comment you make about the criticism Gross received sort of goes with what i'm saying about media favourites, but then also goes against what i've said about Southern bias - as with Reid the media love him and criticised Sunderland fans for getting on his back, rather than take notice of the mess he created. But as soon as Wilkinson was appointed who isn't a media favourite it's 'Boring Sunderland' and 'Wilko the dinosaur' - in fact he's had more stick in two months than Reid probably received in 7 years from the media.

Its ok- it was me who brought up attendances (slapped wrist).

It's ok - i've no problems with any of the Spurs fans and i half expected a reaction. It's just when i started to 'defend' Sunderland and myself a few people seemed to jump on the 'bandwagon' and criticised me, possibly because it was the easy option. er hello? Everton and Newcastle have been talked about as title challengers by the press.

Not to the extent Spurs were last season(which i should have said instead of Spurs in my earlier comment) or Chelsea this season. As i've said everyone gets bad press but the media do have favourite managers/clubs/players and it just so happens that more often than not they are from the London area.
Look at the type of headlines Spurs still command though they haven't been big 5 for years - until this season have the likes of Everton/ Villa had that? - then why not?
Look at Mr Venables and all the hype around his career 'master tactitian' etc - is Bobby Robson acknowledged in the media as Venables is? (note i say in the media not what the rest of us realise).
There is favourites in football choose to ignore it if you like, but it is there.
