Spurs want Kezman

Tottenham will face a fight to land Serbian goalscoring star Mateja Kezman.

The Londoners are understood to be in the hunt for the £6 million-rated PSV Eindhoven striker after their move for West Ham's Frederic Kanoute floundered.

Spurs turned to Kezman after the Hammers refused to drop their asking price for the French striker.

The Division One side are understood to have slapped a £6 million price tag on the Frenchman and Spurs have baulked at paying the cash for a player who spent much of last season on the sidelines through injury.

Kezman has been crowned 'Player of the Year' in Holland after the Serbia and Montenegro international scored 35 goals in 32 appearances.

His goals inspired PSV to land the Dutch title and also attracted some of Europe's top clubs in the process.

Now Spurs face a battle to land the player after Spanish giants Barcelona stepped up their interest. Meanwhile, Spurs youngster Alton Thelwell has been released by the club.

The youngster's contract was due to expire in the summer but Spurs have chosen to release him after a season dogged by persistent injury problems.


First ive heard of this but chances of getting Kezman are slimmer than Christian Gross coming back as next manager

Its also a shame Thelwell didnt make it at the club. Thought he and Ledley partnership would be the future of our defence.

ye i read this story too (but online) who's Kezman? But he sure sounds good with 35 goals in 32 games. But if Barca is on his tail, then we probably won't get a chance. And fuk westham man...Kanoute is crap (good) he doesn't really worth that much :p so give him to us NOW!
