It's probably been mentioned before, but why don't we play Ledley line the anchorman role? He's certainly got the defensive qualities toplay there, and he's got nice touch and good vision, so i don't see why not. In this case, we could play Richards and Gardner, and buy a good central defender instead of an anchorman, like Dobson from Forest. This would certaoinly be the cheaper option.

Also, doesn't Rafael Marquez play for Monaco, becaus it would certainly be worth putting a bid in for him.

Apparently Glenn is considering Ledley for the anchorman role, but Ledders himself has said he prefers centre-half.

And yes, as I said, Marquez plays for Monaco, along with some other excellent players (in particular Nonda, Rothen). However apparently Inter, Juve, Real and Barca want him. But it's always worth a go.

I do think that Ledley as anchorman would be good. This may also reduce the mistakes he make in the box..

Man.. i can't wait till we sign someone.. even if its some old geezer from the pub.. i just wana read some headlines!!! *jumping frantically*

Window opens tomorrow, so you never know!
In theory Ledley as DM does seem good - he has far too much talent on the ball to play centre-back. And it would reduce his mistakes (usually outside the box) and occasional problems losing the line.

AC Milan defender Laursen "very interested" in Spurs move
Tribalfootball.com - June 1, 2003

AC Milan defender Martin Laursen has confirmed his interest in joining Tottenham.
The Dane said, "I would be very interested in going to Tottenham. They are a great club with great traditions and it has always been my dream to play in the Premier League in England.

"It's very difficult for me to say that I want to leave Milan after we have just become champions of Europe, but I want to be playing more often.

"I have three years left on my Milan contract and they have said that they want to keep me. But it has not been a satisfactory season. I feel I am too good to sit on the bench.

"I have two games coming up for Denmark, then I will go on holiday and consider my options.

"I know Rangers want me in Scotland, but if I come to Britain it will be to England."
