Kanoute would be a good buy, but like starvin says his injury record is abysmal. It's hardly likely to improve at Spurs either

Kanoute is very talented. Tall, fairly quick and skillful. But yes his injury record worries me.
And Iversen came to our club with even more talent than Kanoute and managed to fuck it up.

lol yup totally agree... but the thing is.. £4m for Kanoute.. nah i dont think so.

And Carr £5m... make that 7 (since we bloody wasted £11m on Rebrov and Hodd doesn't even play him)

and no lets not get seaman..

Kanoute - just speculation
30 May 2003 21:45

Media claims that we are set to sign Frederic Kanoute are wide of the mark.
The West Ham striker is another player who we admire but we are not on the verge of any transfer.

Said a club spokesman: "As with Bobby Zamora, Kanoute is one of a number of players that we are looking at but, once again, if we make an offer, we will do so directly to his club and not via the newspapers. This is all media speculation."

As we have said, we expect to be the subject of many rumours during the summer and will not be responding to each and every transfer link that appears in the newspapers. However, if something does happen you will read it here on our official web site.

Sounds like a typical Spurs response to be honest. Probably means we're actually on the verge of signing them

They said they won't respond to each transfer link for the third time.

I think they have a new approach in dealing with media speculation and this is it.

My conclusions are that Seaman they weren't interested in full stop so put that one to bed.
They are fairly confident on Zamora and Kanoute.
The other targets (Viduka? plus others) they want to keep on the low in case we get bids hijacked. By confirming interest in Kanoute and Zamora it also throws the media off the track of anyone else we want to sign.

Yeah but are we really that cunning? We'll probably end up just signing Zamora and being doen with it.
