I saw Bo v Watford last season and yes, he was unimpressive.
Did a fair bit of running, but I doubt he would be much use.

From Soccernet:

quote:
Spurs must get 'realistic' with Zamora bid

Brighton have warned Tottenham and other interested clubs they can forget about signing star striker Bobby Zamora on the cheap.

Spurs are believed to have formulated a plan to buy Zamora, 22, for a down-payment of around £2million plus further amounts based on their progress.

But with Charlton and Leicester also reportedly keen on grabbing the East London-born former Bristol Rovers striker, Brighton chairman Dick Knight insisted: 'If these clubs are are really serious they need to get closer to reality.

'We are prepared to listen to any reasonable offers but we haven't had any yet. There are a number of clubs interested in Bobby but some pretty fanciful figures have been bandied about.

'They are linked to some amazing future goals such as him helping them into the Champions League but if Bobby did that surely he would be worth about £15million.'

Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle was a regular at Brighton home matches last season when the Seagulls, despite Zamora's outstanding form, lost their battle against relegation from the First Division after two successive promotions.

He remains favourite to sign Zamora, who is still eligible to play for England Under 21s in their upcoming clashes with Serbia and Montenegro and Slovakia.

But Charlton manager Alan Curbishley is reportedly interested in making a £3million bid, although the club will not confirm this.

And Leicester are certainly in the running with manager Micky Adams' connections. It was Adams who initially signed Zamora for Brighton from Bristol Rovers in a deal understood to include a sell-on clause.

I don't think Qu Bo is good enough for the top flight, if he stays for longer and adapt.. i mean who knows.. man can be the chinese verson of Nakata (but thats abit too far)

The thing with Phillips is that Both Celtic and Rangers are keeping tabs on him. Middlesborough are the only club so far to make realistic bids.

On the other hand, spurs are tracking this two players in france: Didier Drogba and Flourent Malouda (both strikers) however Bordeaux, PSG and Lyon are also interested.

Also its been reported that we are chasing arzz'nal keeper Guillaume Warmuz (some old keeper)... i mean... WHY?

Given the opportunity he'll go to Boro - there is a reason they want him though, because none of the others have convinced, bar Nemeth and to a certain extent Christie. McClaren obviously doesn't rate Nemeth though and is probably on his way out.

No and No.

My opinion is that Pleat has to go. I hope Levy is wise to his manipulation and is smart enough to get rid off him. He is causing unnecessary friction and his ways don't seem to be 100% honourable.

It looks as if Hoddle is staying as manager, but things have been going on behind the scenes.

I doubt we will have a new striker by Tuesday, but the three we have made moves for are Kanoute, Phillips and Zamora. Kanoute looks the most likely to be completed at this point, with the finance deal for Zamora being brokered. Phillips may be a problem, and it is looking like it will be him OR Kanoute unless we snatch them on the cheap.

As for news by Tuesday, this I heard of someone else. But with the exception to the ruling on Bo's permit, it will be non-transfer related. My guess is that the White Elephant is back on, and perhaps a ground update.

So much for Tuesday

hehe lol.
I will be complaining tomorrow!
Well one piece of news is that the club have u-turned on their no returns on cup ties with the season tickets.
Also Si has come out and publicly backed Hoddle today, which shows all is cleared behind the scenes and the club are looking to move forward.
And thirdly, the club has confirmed interest in Zamora.

So I suppose a little there for you.

Window does not open till June 1st, the club WILL NOT announce any deals lined up until then.

May as well up the thread, although there isn't much happening at the moment.

From www.spurs.so.uk:

quote:
Glenn Hoddle insists that the forthcoming season is a big one for everyone concerned as he attempts to steer the club towards success.
He is convinced that, with better fortune in terms of squad availability, plus whatever strengthening he is able achieve during the close season, the next campaign will bring significant improvement on the previous.

"We've got to strengthen, we've known that all along. It is a big season for everyone coming up and, if we can strengthen in the right areas and keep the squad pretty much fit, I'm sure we can have a better season and get on the road to success," said Glenn, who says he is in no way satisfied with the outcome of last season.

"Not at all, we know we've under-achieved. Circumstances have held us back on that but we're disappointed with how we've finished and we know we've got to improve.

"I am determined to do well and there are a lot of people supporting me. I've grown up supporting this club so it hurts me as much as anybody that we haven't finished as we would have liked to have done.

"It makes me more determined and feel that I've got to work even harder."

Thoughts?

Not much to say really. Exactly what you expected him to say. Predictable. Nothing new there. Does he ever say ANYTHING interesting or insightful?
