I wish Perryqhill would keep out of Spurs threads as we all know his opinion and it just turns them into a slanging match. I could take it from fans of certain teams but a Sunderland fan saying Spurs are **** is ridiculous.

True- But you'd be surprised- I know a lot of people who would love to go but simply cannot afford it- which is a shame, some of these used to go and would love to take kids etc but the cost is too high. If clubs reduce prices I reckon genuine fans could go- its just that the clubs dont seem to get this.
Spurs even went so far as to ask us in the program to not shout at company guests who supported the other team and made a BIG point of it......a shame as its only a friendly bit of ribbing- far less than ****ed up execs telling us how **** our team is!!!

Every time I go to Highbury now, I want to cringe at some of the supporters we have. My last game I had some Aussies sitting behind me who talked all the way through the game about everything except the match. They even said at the start of the second-half "We must try and watch the game this half!"
That saddens me because my nephew is at the age I was when I started going regularly (13). How the hell is he going to afford the £32 to see his team play every other week - even if he can get a ticket!? He's a genuine fan who can't see Arsenal play very often (unless his uncle treats him)... and he isn't alone!
At a similar price, Phillips beats Viduka hands down.
Not gonna get into the attendances debate with you old boys (!), but regarding the 28,000 for Glenn's first home game, it was two days after we'd all spent an absolute shedload trekkng up to Manchester to see the most abject capitulation you could imagine, against our bitterest rivals in an FA CUp semi-final. I did go to that Bradfrod match, but I remember talking to Retro at the time about how it was the last thing I felt like doing. It was also a Tuesday night IIRC so I'd imagine a number of people didn't make the effort from work as they normally would.
This doesn't make an attendance of 28,000 any more acceptable, but as a one off and in extraordinary circumastances, I don't think it's the best basis of an argument.

I came in and made a few daft comments, which should have been taken light heartedly - which then turned into some anti-Sunderland rants, accusing us and our fans of being less loyal and turning out in less numbers, which quite frankly is bollox. So i have defended them, if people can't take a bit of critcism or have a laugh about their team then tough IMO.

Yes, I remember you mentioning that (I also remember being very restrained after said semi-final ). There have been times - especially when the prices started getting ridiculous - when I've got despondant after a result and found it hard to haul my @rse to a match. The dreaded "Why should I pay £xx to turn up when the players look like they can't be bothered to turn up!".
I think when your players a merely not good enough, but try - its easier to turn up and show support through thick-and-thin. When the players appear to not care - I think that manifests itself in the crowd reaction.
As supporters we are sometimes caught between our love for the club - which is permanent and total, and ill-feeling towards some of the people currently representing the club at the time (Chairmen, Managers, Players etc). When we feel one of these groups doesn't have the club's best interest at heart we feel cheated. We know WE'D die for the club, so why not them? Perhaps we are unfair - who knows?
When people talk about lack of support or fairweather fans - sometimes the circumstances need to be accounted for. If I was a Sunderland fan and there was hope when a new managemer was announced and it turned out to be Howard Wilkinson, I'd be disappointed too. I'd give the guy a break sure, give him a chance to prove me wrong - but I might feel a little bit despondant.
Anyway, enough waffle for now

Just games this season? Well doesnt that prove how fairweather Sunderland fans are- surely they'd be cheering your lot on and helping Sunderland avoid relegation if they we're such great supporters?
We always tend to fill 95% of the ground as well- even under Christian Gross and even with the club charging £80 for some seats, the only games with sub 30,000 attendances tend to be Worthington Cup games against lower league opponents.
For example this season for non-glam games:
Bolton: 35,500
SCBC: 35,500
Villa: 35,000
West Brom 35,958
Its also worth noting that the club allocated 25% of our total attendance to non-season ticket holders- these sell out without fail, its season ticket holders who are the odd thousand who dont make games at times.
But regardless of this 37,000 really is a pathetic turnout for a game against Liverpool.........

Try sustaining 40,000 + crowds when you have had the run of form we have - we done it last year, but this year some people are sick to death of the way we play and the poor form - something you lot haven't had to deal with for a long time.
As for the Liverpool game it was live on Sky and even though your ground only holds 36,000, to say you could have got more in our position is neither here nor there as you haven't been in our situation and your guessing - last year we got more and the 4 seasons before that to we would of too, but like i say when your in this position or you have a ground capable of holding that many we will see, but i'll keep on harping back to the GG era because thats the closest you have been to the situation were in and your fans weren't exactly impressive then.

also i dont like this talk of Carr leaving. If this happens which it wont then maybe we should buy Finnan.

It will happen because A) you're sh*t, B) he has ambition and C) He'll be available on a Bosman.
As for Finnan - how on earth could you tempt Fulham to sell?

Err thats all i said, i had Eastwood slate Phillips and Bushy laugh at Sunderland, but did i cry and react like a baby?

It's a waste of your time though, you've said it all before. You should have just posted a link to any other previous Spurs thread and we could have read all of your arguments there if we wanted too.
