I thought the away kit looked nice. The sponsor looks bettter because of the Thomson logo above the words.

My team for next season would be similar to Nick's:

GK: Keller
LB: Cardner
RB: Richards [c]
CB: King

LM: Zeige/Etherington
RM: Davies
DMC: Redknapp/Bowyer?
AMC: Keane
CM: Anderton
CM: Acimovic (give him a chance)

SC: A new striker. Zamora maybe

Assuming we stick with 3-5-2 as a general formation and that Carr stays, I'd go for:

GK: Keller (though I really want to find out more about Sully's situation nad if he could regain past form)

LCB: Gardner
CB: Richards (C)
RCB: King

LWB: Ziege
RWB: Carr
DMC: Really need someone effective here (if none, then Redknapp)
CM: Redknapp/Davies/Anderton/Acimovic
CM: Redknapp/Davies/Anderton/Acimovic

FC: Keane
ST: Definitely need someone here (...Donkey Kong )

In my opinion, we need 4 players - 2 strikers, a decent defensive midfielder and, while King and Gardner are still a bit raw and given our penchant for injuries, an established defender (maybe even a veteran for a year or 2).

We should sell him if he does not sign a new contract otherwise he is off for free end of next season. He is obviously just sitting there waiting for this, u can tell by his attitude on the pitch.

My team would be:

GK: Keller

LCB: Gardner
CB: Richards (C)
RCB: King

LWB: Ziege
RWB: Taricco - but start to introduce Dean Marney to the first team.
DM: <Someone New>/Redknapp
CM: Davies
CM: Anderton/Etherington

SC: Keane
SC: <Someone New> - A strong target man preferably.

quote:
Parker attracts Spurs attention
By Adrian Curtis And Leo Spall
14 May 2003
Tottenham were today linked with a £1 million bid for Scott Parker.

The Charlton midfielder, a boyhood Spurs fan, enjoyed a fine season at The Valley ending with a full England call-up and Glenn Hoddle has been a long-time admirer of him.

But the Spurs manager's alleged offer of £1m, plus midfielder Matthew Etherington, was not considered enough by Charlton who still remain interested in the former Peterborough player.

Etherington has one year remaining on his existing contract but has yet to sign a two-year extension because of his concerns over lack of first-team football.

Charlton's reluctance will please defender Luke Young, the former Spurs player. He thinks the recent form of youngsters such as Parker and Paul Konchesky will continue to attract interest from rich rivals.

But Young says Charlton need to hold on to their best players and aim for European qualification next term.

He said: "We have got to keep players like Paul and Scott to push on. I think there will be big clubs looking at Parker because of the way he has played this season. It will be difficult to hold on to him but I hope we do.

"There are a lot of young players at the club and it would be good to keep hold of them all. I think whether we do that or not will be a test of the club's ambition.

"You come to a point when you need to try to push up to the top six or seven in the Premiership. The squad did not hold out this year but if the manager brings in some new players we will be looking for European football."

Meanwhile, Kasey Keller is to undergo surgery following Tottenham's clash with DC United in Washington tonight. The goalkeeper will travel to Birmingham, Alabama, to have some bone removed from both elbows.

He will then link up with the US squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July.

There are further problems for Hoddle as Jonathan Blondel has stressed he needs to play firstteam football next season or go on loan. Blondel, 19, has failed to break into the Spurs squad since arriving at the club and is becoming frustrated. The Belgian youngster said: "If I can't play, I want Spurs to loan me out."

Darren Anderton has started to step up his rehabilitation work from a knee injury that kept him out of Spurs's final Premiership games. The midfielder spent last month on the sidelines after sustaining the injury against Manchester City on Good Friday.

First-team coach Chris Hughton said: "Darren has stepped up his comeback but at this point he looks unlikely to figure against DC United. We missed his quality and it's nice to see him back."

Does anyone know if we are changing our home shirt for next season or not?

I'd stick with 5-3-2:

GK: Keller
LWB: Ziege
DC: Gardner
DC: Richards
DC: King
RWB: Carr (or Henry if Carr is sold)
MC: Blondel (bout time he got a chance)
MC: Davies
MC: New signing - good strong holding player
FC: Keane
FC: New signing - strong target man

I just pray for the love of god that we dont end up with Heskey. If we do it will be the 1st time I actually pray our injury jinx continues.

Don't know for sure, but I think probably not. We seem to usually keep the basic white/blue home kit for a bit and change the away one more frequently (e.g. blue/yellow, dark blue, light blue).
