Spurs are a rebuilding club, fact is if Spurs finish 8th this season it's one of our BEST finishes in the premiership. A lot of supporters think that we have a god given right to be in the top 3 and well lets face it, we don't!!!!!! Basically because we have nothing to play for the players are now looking to the summer breaks, this happens every year to all clubs in this position.

However we do have the basis of a good side and one that could be built upon, take it as everyone being fit and we have a good core:- Keller, King, Gardner, Richards, Davies, Keane. Now If we can keep Carr and Etherington, keep Redknapp fit for 80% of the games an buy a defensive midfielder and an out and out striker we could qualify for Europe next season. We have some good youngsters coming through, I've seen the reserves a few times and the likes of Blondel, Ricketts, Slabber, Bowditch and Henry (he marked Carlton Cole out of the Chelsea res. game I saw) could really do well. If we can sign Zamora and Barry and perhaps 1 or 2 more then I really think maybe 1 of the cups could be a posability.

I do think supporters should stay off Hoddles back though, we do need to give him a lot of time, maybe even 3 or 4 years before we can even thank about challanging for a champions league place.

Good to see some fans with more sense. If you look at the premiership, there are only two sides who have made great strides of progress in a few years. The first is Arsenal under Wenger. He did this through incredible work in the transfer market. The second is David Moyes. He did this through being a good manager and a lot of luck. What Everton have achieved is incredible, with the addition of Joseph Yobo they went from relegation to Europe. But they've had all the luck they needed.
I see people comparing us to Newcastle, but can we really spend money like they have? And how much better a man-manager is Robson? He has isolated previous manager's signings and even his own (Carl Cort). Any other club who has got into Europe has done it through spending BIG - Chelsea, Leeds.

If we don't have a anchorman and striker next season then the questions have to be asked.

I fear that Hoddle sees Bunje as that anchorman, but IMO he hasn't got the pace required to play in the Premiership. The pace of games are so high that you need to have some yourself to cope. Just look at how Blanc fell through. He could do a decent job in Italy - no chance in England.

I don't believe for a second Hoddle sees Bunje as an anchorman. But if its between him and Toda then he doesn't have much choice. He could try Ledley if Richards is fit against Blackburn

Agreed Bunje is a waste of space, he is definitely not good enough to play premiership football....he shows good skills, and good ball playing ability, but just not good enough for the premiership

also doherty sucks, he has to go

I beleive that Doherty, although he sucks, is a good player to have in our squad because he is a versatile guy, and he will run his socks off.

I will enjoy the summer. Its when the football starts again that i'll be annoyed - or delighted as the case may be. Davies, Keane, Keller, Richards, King and Gardner are always better with Rcihards playing, but they will be quality once they cut the silly errors out of their game, and gain some more experience. Also Carr on top form, are our good players.

Interestingly, about Davies, a friend of mine has a theory on why he hasn't performed as well as usual this season. When Poyet plays, it means that Davies has to track back a lot more, and can get forward much less often, as Poyet rarely helps out defensively. However, when Poyet plays, he has that license to get forward, providing he is playing with a couple of more defensive minded midfielders. Therefore, i thinknow that Poyets roll should be coming off the bench - like Zola - for the last 20 minutes, as he is quite likely to grab a goal.

Agree. The same goes for Teddy - his physic is lacking more and more. If he's to play for us at all next season it has to be off the bench. He's someone who can come on late when the defence is tired and grab a goal or see an opening.

On another note, if Keller only started saving some penalties (seeing as we get one against us half the time) he would be one of the absolute best keepers in the league.
