IMO what were missing is some defensive stabilty. We concede soooo many goals on the break it's embaressing. I'm not sure if it's caused by commiting too many men forward, the shape of the team or whatever. Anyhow, when we lose possession we seem to be there for the taking.

Personally I feel that the defenders we have should be good enough to prevent such scorelines that we've seen today. So I suspect it's a tactical thing that needs tweaking (to use CM3 terms). If it's caused by players then it must be the midfield that's lacking. We could do with a defensive anchor in midfield that can prevent these breaks from happening.

The people who i really feel for are those fans who paid and made the trek up to Middlesborough. What a disapointment for them. I was considering it, but i culdn't be bothered.
