I expect he will have played enough internationals to qualify now - I haven't checked that though. It'll be really odd if they don't get a permit this time - especially as the first £100,000 payment is made whether the transfer is completed or not.

quote:
The chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, Daniel Levy, today become the sole director of the club's majority shareholders following the £40.3m cash-buyout of ENIC by Kondar Limited, which was formed in October 2002 with the sole purpose of making the offer.

quote:
THFC are a PLC. Controlling this are majority shareholders ENIC (with lots of directors). Too many cooks spoil the broth so Levy formed Kondar (with billionaire Spurs fan Joe Davis) to buy out ENIC and become big chief cook - he is now the one and only director of ENIC.
In the past, if we found a player we wanted at Spurs, then Levy had to convince the ENIC board first to give the go ahead and buy. ENIC (having controlling interests in Rangers, AEK, Vicenza amongst others) would nearly always stall on this. The thinking? WE HAVE INTERESTS IN SO MANY CLUBS, WHY CONCENTRATE ON THFC!! That´s the hard truth. We love our club but these business people see it as just a business.
Levy has now taken out the problem by buying ENIC for himself, having sole control to do what he wishes. Selling the interests of Rangers, AEK, Vicenza amongst others will be the first option. Should take around 6 months to complete, then Levy can concetrate on Spurs. The inside info is that he wants to privitise us. We´re going LIMITED again like we were in the beginning of the 80´s.
Billionaire Spurs fan Joe Davis - come on down!! JD will be able to pump whatever funds into Spurs he wishes, whether it be 10 million quid or 100 million quid. The guy is worth nearly 800 million quid so he ain´t gonna miss it.
This is gonna take about 2 years to complete. for now, then we can act in the transfer market much quicker as Levy has no one else to convince at ENIC anymore over who to clear the funds for. He can do whatever.
People who blame Daniel Levy were misguided in doing so. The other directors of ENIC are the culprits. it is they who forced DL to haggle with the selling clubs to get the lowest price possible as the other ENIC directors would only release the lowest funds required. Remember, ENIC release 2 million quid to us for a player, then Rangers, AEK, vicenza start screaming for funds too.
Now those directors aren´t there, and soon the other clubs will be gone too.
Expect us to pay a better price for players, act quicker in the transfer market and generally improve our name when it come to transfer deals.
In about 2 years, expect us to be able to buy whoever we want!
should be a good transfer window this summer (3 or 4 players are now easily affordable - still unable to break the bank, cos we´re still a PLC) but that´ll be nothing compared with the summer of 2005 (when if all goes as planned we´ll be LIMITED again), and in a deflated transfer market there will be no stopping us. we will buy whoever for whatever price and they ain´t gonna be the prices they are now.

I read this on a Spurs forum and it certainly sounds interesting. Probably at the opposite spectrum of truth knowing our luck.

I'll believe all that when I see the transfers being made. And yes, while we might have the funds to buy who we like, the more important question is if the player we're targeting is even interested in coming to WHL.

I just read on the Spurs website that Jamie Slabber is in the squad for the Liverpool game. Finally, lets see what he can do; if he plays. Slabber in squad
This is also about Slabber but haven't read it yet so it could be completely irrelevant: Slabber |

I went to watch the Spurs Reserves against Chelsea Reserves last Monday and Slabber played. He done alright and scored, he should be given some sort of chance. Lets face it we have Doherty up front at the moment, I'd rather have my Nan playing there!

I'm not sure the Board would stump up the signing-on fee needed |

We can still make europe. We are only 3 points off the 7th place. What happens if Man Utd win the CL. Then does that mean they automatically qualify for next years and if so then doesn't that mean 8th lace would go into europe

Me and my mate figured out that if all the results go our way, then 8th place can mean automatic European qualification. ATM, 7th place is Europe IIRC, because of Liverpool winning the Worthless Cup.
BTW, anyone heard any news on Dean Richards. He got subbed off 15 minutes from the end yesterday, and i got a text affter the match saying he had a back injury. Anyone know anything?

Thought this thread had sunk like Tottenham's season.
