Apparently Iversen might no play against Chelsea either. So that means Hoddle would probly start Sheringham and Doherty upfront. That would have to be one of the worst partnerships available upfront.
Doherty isnt a striker and struggles to be a defender sometimes. We should call up Jamie slabber he is in some good form at the moment i think. Also can we recall people from loan.
We should have made a move for Malcom Christie. He is brilliant. He has the pace and play him upfront with Sheringham then maybe we have a lethal partnership. and when Keane gets back we would have a lethal partnership.

The only other option is to put poyet up front with teddy and bring in either etherington or acimovic on the left. I think i would prefer poyet up front instead of doc.

Seconded.

I wonder which class striker we'll be able to attract with no Europen football for the next season? Carsten Jancker?

Good draw today, IMO. i didnt expect anything out of the game, so to get a point was good. it would have been better though if we'd have got somethiung from the Newcastle game. Even a point would have seen us in 6th. anyway, roll on Sunderland.

Easy 3 points?

Keano, 3 easy points? U would think but we lost to them earlier in the season and whenever we think its 3 easy points spurs tend to make a hash of it.

I'm getting into a more positive frame of mind. I'll still be cross if we are not in Europe at the end of the season but I'm calming down and beginning to see the financial sense of all this.

There's no point shelling out for Ricketts now if the same amount of money will get you the equivalent of Heskey (who I rate) in the summer.

If the game is heading for an extended period of belt-tightening then to have stripped out the dead wood now will come to look very smart indeed and avoiding overstretching will prove essential.

This sort of situation would really suit Spurs. TV money dwarfs gate receipts at the moment but if it falls significantly the revenue generating power of the wealthy Tottenham fans will come into its own and if this revenue is not supporting long term debt like it will be for Chelsea then there will only be a couple of clubs in a better base financial situation and only those with rich benefactors will have significantly more buying power.

However this is all for the future and if there is a massive transfer market in the summer we need to be in European competition to ensure being able to attract the players we want even if we can afford them.

----

With Gardner injured I hope we will now switch to 4-4-2 with Etherington playing.

Looking at Neville G and Beckham today showed what we could have with Carr and Davies in this formation and Tano & Etherington could be quite useful on the left if a little frail defensively.

I don't think we can afford to play Gus and Teddy together. Not for a whole match, certainly. They both slow down a lot and they should get less upset about being substituted. I'd sub Gus for Blondel (or Acimovic) with 20 minutes to go in every match.
