Klose in on loan and buying Ricketts will do me today. Then we can look at bringing in a better striker. If I was Bolton manager I'd tell us to **** off.

I think he already did Don't know how much truth there is in it (could be a negotiation ploy), but Soccernet reported that Ricketts is staying.

Latest news is a £6m bid from 'Boro. They can have him for that price.

Just read elsewhere that it's £4m, which is apparently a million more than what we're willing to offer. Ah, feck this transfer sh1t; I'm off to play Winning Eleven

From BBC:

quote:
Boro 'land Ricketts'

Middlesbrough have won the race to sign Bolton striker Michael Ricketts, according to reports.

Tottenham were favourites to land the transfer-listed 24-year-old, but Middlesbrough boss Steve McLaren made a late bid believed to be in the region of £4m.

Spurs manager Glenn Hoddle was thought to have tabled a bid of £3m plus an extra £500,000 to be paid based on appearances.

Bolton were originally holding out for £6m, but have now been tempted to cash in after signing Valencia's Salva Ballesta on loan until the end of the season.

Spurs boss Hoddle is now understood to be pondering a loan move for Kaiserlautern's Miroslav Klose.

Ricketts demanded a transfer after long-time rumours linking Spurs with the striker, who won one England cap against Holland last season.

Well, let's hope Keane can last the season carrying the team's attack.

Keane wasn't exactly free either (though undoubtedly worth the money) so I don't think Hoddle has much to spend.

If the rumours right it was on 4m up front though with the rest coming after apperances, goals and league positions, that's surley not the only money available for Spurs?

The wage bill that's been cut should offer room for higher investments. On the other hand it seems that we're reluctant to offer much money for anyone / to anyone these days.

I had to get off for a while so I put LOTRs on. I can't believe nothing has happened yet.
