Ive honestly never thought Highbury had a bad atmosphere- yeah for some "guaranteed 3 pointers" but against us and when Ive seen you play Liverpool and Arsenal its sounded loud enough.

Maybe its to do with Accoustics- we have an enclosed bowl so sound will be contained- but Highbury is open so it might "lose" sound?

Id also be surprised if Tourists could get tickets- after all you like us have loads of season ticket holders and members, so it'd be a tiny percentage of day trippers who get in.

I must admit though I tend to be less animated since seating was brought in- I now tend to quite calmly compliment the team on a good pass etc, only really going mad if its a piece of goalmouth action or a bad foul. Maybe watching live games is now too much like watching on TV.

Your point about acoustics is a good one, and one I realised even when the North Bank was terraced - the four corners are completely open.

Tourists: well, the games I've been to in the last couple of seasons have suggested to me that they are getting tickets. The people sitting around me on the North Bank have clearly not been Arsenal fans. I could be wrong - perhaps they are Nu-Gooners?

I think everyone will agree with your seating comment. I remember ending up a good 20 foot away from where I started after a goal in the old terraced North Bank on a number of occasions!

I'm not as animated either - I must irritate people though because I've got the habit of discussing the match with whoever I'm with in the minutest detail instead! I apologise to amyone who has to sit near me!

Iversen can be deadly at times its jsut that he is inconsistent, What he needs is someone to whip the crosses in. This is where he is most deadly as we saw towards the end of lat season.
I feel that Hoddle is very good tactically but when it comes to choosing the right players it seems like he is a bit inexperienced or could it be he doesnt have much to choose from on the bench. I mean with england he could send on any player and they would do the job as he could choose almost anyone he wanted but at clubs you dont have as wide a variety.

The reason Rebrov wasnt on the bench coz he was sick i read it at www.spurs.co.uk

Personally I dont think many teams have great home support that always makes a racket- even the great toon were muted until they got a goal against us a few weeks back.

Very true, while there are sections of ours that do and can sing almost non-stop at times, more often than not the majority only sing in reply to the away fans or when were on top ( ) and at the weekend with Blackburn only bringing a shocking 500 or so fans the atmosphere was non-existent the majority of the game.

It seems like most fans these days don't 'support', more likely they are looking to be entertained first before they open their mouths. All seater stadiums could be blamed in part for the lack of atmosphere, but then it doesn't stop our away support from singing almost non-stop where ever we go.

I'm under the impression that Rebrov is close to moving and I'm hoping thats the reason he was said to be sick.

quote:
Fulham confirm Rebrov talks 13 Jan

Fulham are reported to be in talks with Tottenham's unwanted Ukrainian striker Sergei Rebrov.

Fulham are said to be keen to sign the 28-year-old in a £3million deal this week.

Spurs want to sell Rebrov in order to free up some money to buy Michael Ricketts from Bolton, while relegation-threatened Fulham are desperate to add some firepower to their squad.

"I can confirm that Sergei Rebrov is one of two or three players we are looking at," Fulham's chief executive Bruce Langham told the London Evening Standard.

"It is clear that we do not have a lot of money to spend and a loan deal from outside the Premiership would be the preferred option.

"But we are talking to Spurs about a deal for Rebrov and we will see what happens."

Rebrov, who joined Spurs from Dynamo Kiev for £11million in the summer of 2000, has made just 37 Premiership appearances for the club and has not played at all this season.

personally i hope rebrov does move, but not to another EPL team because I just know that he'll go there and be a 20+ goal a season striker. and if we're selling just to buy the donkey's arse that is michael ricketts then i'll be furious, i dont rate him at all.

He'll probably be a 20 goal a season striker wherever he goes, so why not the EPL? I wouldn't mind him stuffing a couple behind us. Then hopefully it would teach Hoddle something about team selection.

Why not the EPL? For the reason you;ve said, I don't want him scoring against us. If he goes off to Fener or wherever abroad and scores a good few goals that wuill be enough to teach Hoddle a lesson, I don't care how much Hod has fúcked up I don't want the team to be getting beat out of spite.
