quote:
As like Newcastle, Spurs dont 'defend from the front' - far from it they seem to usually over commit going forward and have no one capable of 'putting their foot in', players like Anderton, Reknapp, Poyet, Davies tend not to do that sort of stuff. No mater how good you are going forward you need to work hard as a 'team'.

Indeed, except that unlike Newcastle we don't attack as a team either. The team is generally too slow, old, and lacking in real athletes, so we don't get forward in numbers and likewise we ain't got the graft and dynamism to defend as a unit. Ah feck it, I can't hack this tonight!

Perry I agree with what you just said about us leaving ourselves open but Redknapp does get his foot in he is always up for a challenge, Before he joined Spurs I used to think he was a "pretty boy" he didn't go in for tackles because he might get mud on his arm. But he has proved me wrong as you may have noticed when we played Highbury at Arsenal when he went into that challenge on Campbell nearly starting a brawl between us and the s<um

Hmm, i must say i haven't seen much of Spurs this season, but early last season they were one of the most impressive sides i'd seen for ages. They were playing 3-5-2 with basically Ziege a winger and Davies a winger on the right. The football was quite good and being knocked around excellently. Even then though i thought you might be quite open if attacked right, but i feel the likes of Sheringham, Poyet etc maybe have gone a 'bridge too far' and while they were good short term buys Hoddle may have persisted with them too long and not brought Davies, Etherington, Gardener(better than King IMO)on quick enough.

I also thought while Keane is an excellent player he wasn't really the sort of 'finisher'you needed, not as a priority anyway.

But i'm only a Spurs 'hater' supposedly

Get Phillips, a central midfielder who can tackle and play 442 and you'd be champions league place contenders.

I've got the game on tape (it was on at 2:40 am over here) but I'm glad I checked the score first 'cause I don't think I'd be able to stomach such a massacre I honestly thought the Saints would win but not in such an emphatic fashion. I'd watch the game to try and see what's wrong with Spurs but something tells me I'd probably having trouble keeping up

Anyways, humour has always helped so here's something posted by someone at spursweb.com:

quote:

The future for Spurs, according to CamdenSpur from spursweb.com (hope you don't mind!):

1) Hoddle drops KK and scars him for life, exiling him to the reserves forever. KK goes back to the US to become a respected journalist for Rolling Stone magazine.

2) Sherwood slags off Hoddle in the press again but this time Hoddle challenges him to a game of FIFA on the PS2 to settle their quarrel. Sherwood wins after Hoddle's centre backs go AWOL and the ball bundles in off a journeyman striker.

3) Rebrov is not wanted by Fenerbache and so has to resort to sticking a 'for sale' sign on himself and lurking amongst the wooly hats in the Megastore.

4) David Buchler decides now is the time to tell the press that when he said 'see you in the Champions League, Sol', he only meant from his living room as he watches on TV.

5) Christian Gross is back as technical advisor but gets lost on the tube somewhere near Swiss Cottage and is never seen again.

Its hard to say who is better out of King and Gardner
I mean I reckon King is better going forward and maybe he should be used as an anchorman he orignially was a midfielder.
Gardner on the other bhand is very good defensively and has the hight and pace to stop most strikers in the PL.
Yeah I think that when Gardners back and fully fit then Gardner shoudl be in teh backs with Ricjards and Perry and maybe give King a chance in the midfield
