king hasnt been back to his best since he returned from injury, he was awsome last season after campbell left and filled the gap left by sol well. Hopefully he can find the form that got him his first england cap.
He needs a leader next to him, Perry and Thatcher certainly couldn't be described as such so he struggled. He's certainly talented but with a non-existent midfield protecting him he was always going to struggle. He seems to have developed the habit of watching the ball and not picking up the man ghosting in behind him which is worrying, and he's in real danger of going backwards as a player if he doesn't start playing in a team that gives him half a chance to develop. We ship goals as badly as any team in the bottom three, and I reckon playing a 352 doesn't help either that, or Led personally.
GG played him as an MC, and sometimes I think that may in fact suit him best. But in terms of tonight, picking on individuals is futile as they were all an absolute disgrace to the shirt.

can i ask what you guys think about ledley king? i've never seen him have a good game and tonight he was just awful.

Must admit i've never been a King fan, i've always thought he was almost as overhyped as Sol Campbell (though with different attributes), sometimes good on the ball, strong, but not particulary good in defensive situations. Also this season i've thought Richards whenever i've seen him has been very dodgy and i've seen him be at fault for quite a few goals, though some Spurs fans i've talked to reckon he's been Spurs's star man defensively.
I never thought i'd say this but Chris Perry has impressed me this season, what he lacks in the air due to his size, he often makes up in the rest of his game and seems more reliable than the rest of the Spurs defenders, though as i've already said elsewhere i dont watch Spurs and i could be wrong

LOL - How exactly
Yeah i get yer, i heard all the King > Campbell type things too and although Campbell's supposed status as one of the top 'defenders in Europe' is one of my pet hates, i couldn't really make any case for King being in his league. I'm trying to be 100% honest here Craddock > Campbell > King....whooops

You really ain't seen much of us mate. Deano was shocking last season but he's been arguably our player of the season so far. Perry gets some important tackles in, but usually after he's given the ball away! Perhaps he is more consistent that our other defenders, but that'd be because as an individual, his standard is far lower.
Olly - The thing is he did genuinely fill Campbell's boots superbly, and he is a far more gifted footballer who has still developed further at his age than Sol had. He ain't the athlete that Campbell is of course, but with the proper coaching and surroundings, he really could develop into a high class player. He wasn't a world-beater when he was playing well, just as he ain't a bad player now. His form'll improve when the team does, when that'll be is anyones guess.
you guys had better not feck King up, we need him to be at his best when we're replacing Campbell in 3-4 seasons time

you think campbell's shÃ*t too then?

I feel Ledley King apart from the last 4 games has been brilliant this season but only with Dean Richards as his defensive partner. I don't see why King is compared to Campbell though as Ledley is comfertable and confident on the ball while Sol just used to hoof it into the opposing penalty area every week. Fair do's, i've only seen a few live games and some highlights, but the errors i saw were from Richards and quite basic (in the Sunderland, Southampton and another one or two after last week i can't remember ).
In my opinion though i dont think its down to the individuals being bad players, more down to the protection they get. As like Newcastle, Spurs dont 'defend from the front' - far from it they seem to usually over commit going forward and have no one capable of 'putting their foot in', players like Anderton, Reknapp, Poyet, Davies tend not to do that sort of stuff. No mater how good you are going forward you need to work hard as a 'team'.

well if he's anywhere near as good as adams/keown/bould/dixon/winterburn you won't need to replace him until king is past 30

ffs Big_Ol my original comment was quite clearly a piece of banter not a 100% accurate forcast for what may happen in the near future.
