I'm confused, is the deadline midnight tonight or tomorrow?

BBC saying the offer has been upped to 8p in the pound, conditional of no challenges to the takeover (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6262260.stm)

So we still have a football club? Can we start thinking on the pitch now, I'm sick of this soap opera surrounding our club. Bet it's not over yet though.

The club can confirm that the Inland Revenue have served notice of their intentions to challenge the CVA.

We do not have all the details as yet and do have a number of options available to us.

We remain confident of a positive outcome despite this disappointing news and will carry on with business as usual in the meantime.

Ken Bates' proposed buyback of Leeds United is to be challenged by HM Revenue & Customs, the BBC has learned.

The announcement comes a day after the news that the administrators at the football club had persuaded Mr Bates to raise his offer to creditors.

Mr Bates is now offering creditors 8p in the pound instead of his initial proposal of just a penny.

Leeds went into administration on 4 May, before Mr Bates won backing to buy it back on 4 June.

The club has debts of £35m.

With its debts of £35m, Mr Bates has previously claimed that any legal challenge by HM Revenue & Customs could force the club into liquidation.

So it'll all be the big old bad Inland Revenue's fault rather than the abjectly awful way the club was run.
