Got my wireless connection so that both my PC and laptop can use the internet \0/.

How can i get it so my laptop can see my desktop PC. The Desktop s running Win XP Pro SP2 and the laptop is running Win XP Home SP2.

You need to run the windows 'Network Setup Wizard' on both your machines. 'Start' -> 'Programs' -> 'Accessories' -> 'Communications' -> 'Network Setup Wizard'

I know nothing about wireless broadband and just got my head around normal cabled broadband so is this sceneria possible:

O/S Win XP Home
ISP: 2Mbit, F2s, 10gb cap
Master socket downstairs with extension cable pluggedinto teh front running upstairs to phone in room a A and doubler on that box with extension running into room B for PC/dialup 56k at moment and a phone in room B.

I know how to setup it up for non wireless use as in install filter at master socket, plug extension into the filter and a 20/30 meter RJ11 cable into the filter and run that up to router for it to be connected via Ethernet/Rj45 into teh socket at teh back of my PC - I don't think it's an actual card but integrated with the motherboard like USB is.

Now, if possible is it possible to do that but without wires as in have a wireless pci card in my PC and then have the wireless modem downstairs near teh master socket which I guess will be pluggedinto that via rj11 cable? Bear in mind I just use one computer and have no interest in having other devices conected. Is that even possbile?

When you say wireless modem are you referring to your router?

If you want to connect one pc to your wireless router wirelessly using a wireless pci card then you can and it shouldn't be a problem.

Alrighy peeps.

I've just got Telewest braodband, have ordered a wireless router and just been told it could take three weeks to arrive.

We have two in-house PCs, both with wireless network cards. We have a treacherous ethernet lead running from the cable modem up the stairs to my mate's computer, which is obviously a temporary measure.

We have set up a computer to computer wireless network between the two PCs. He is online and running fine, but try as we might I can't access the internet through our network. The network itself is stable, solid and seems to be fine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Right chaps, I have a wireless LAN on my laptop (802.11b/g) and want to use my NTL connection without wires everywhere BUT I want the main PC to have the NTL cable modem plugged in, would I still be able to use the Net even if the main PC was off?

What do I need?

What would you recommend? Cheap and cheerful please chaps.

No point having 2 modems, you won't need your ntl modem.
You need a wireless router with a built in modem, linksys a good make and read through this thread lots of good suggestions.
Plus you will probly need a longer ethernet wire than the 1 that comes with your router.
