I quickly gave up on Vice City - I couldn't figure out how to swim!

Seriously though, I had trouble with the draw distance (I think) - vehicles would appear half-way along the street rather than on the horizon.
It didn't seem to make any difference when I changed the setting.

Was there ever a patch?

Vice City the most overrated of all the overrated GTA games. Awful, awful game. The eighties were and are ****.

I agree, GTA2 online is great - especially seeing as it's free and easy to pick up.

Vice City had the best bike stunts/cruising imo.

GTA III onwards have been superb. San Andreas was awesome, and imo the games keep getting better. I've gone back and played Vice City Stories (PSP re-jig for PS2) and even that was pretty good.

I hope GTA IV should be awesome, I just hope that it lives up to my rather high expectations!

The problem i've always had with the GTA3 series is that i never felt it delivered in areas it promised. I've never really found the story in the games to be anything greater than run of the mill generic storytelling. I've always had a problem with the "open ended" suggestions when the actual story itself is incredibly linear in terms of execution.

They're great games for about 15 minutes at a time inbetween deeper more immersive games for me really.

Played GTA3 and Vice City to death - played a fair bit on San Andreas but didn't enjoy it as much, and never got to the end like I did with the others. As Gregg said, after a while it just became something to mess about on for a short time in between other games.

Not sure about GTA4 - will see if I have a next gen console and some spare cash lying around when it comes out.

What i'm hoping for from GTA4 is that if they do what they suggest, it really could open new ground for the game that i'd be happy to go with. Suggestions are that if you fail a mission, you can't replay it and that it impacts on the progess of the story.

I hope they can pull it off. Dead Rising tried it and failed miserably due to the system being poorly executed.

Vice city clearly the best although i'm not keen on the helicopter and plane flying, which was why could never get into san andreas. A gangbanger from the 'hood that can fly planes WTF, also the area 51 jetpack mission, what where they ever thinking !!!
Apparently this one will be more realistic, which suits me. :cool:
