| with tevez as well. at least he does something for the team even if he's not scoring. bellamy to a certain extent as well.

Not going to get into another Owen debate tbh - its been done to death. Some of us want him back, the rest are dead against it. It's irrelevant now as it isn't going to happen so lets move on.
Torres will be our new striker next season

I'm not counting my chickens on any player until I see Rafa's chubby red face standing next to whomever we have signed

Great when he was with us, thought the grass was greener elsewhere and has done feck all since.
| exactly, he though he was bigger than/was the team got told to FO spent a year as a sub in madrid and is now probably wishing he'd kept his mouth shut.
meanwhile we've won the European cup,the FA cup, closed the gap on the top two,got a much needed investment injection, new stadium finally looks like a genuine possibility & we have one of the most astute, tactically aware managers in the game today

I think Rafa has done great in transfers since his arrival with the resources available.
Josemi £2m Wasn't the best signing but we got rid quickly and lost nothing on the transfer when we sold Kromkamp for £2m.
Nunez £?
Was forced on Rafa in the Owen swap
Pellegrino £0. Was here 4 months and filled a role.
Zenden £0 Considering we paid nothing he did well
Garcia £6m Good business by Rafa
Alonso £10.7m A great deal
Morientes £6.3m
We needed a good CHEAP striker. Almost everyone thought we made a great deal. What else was out there at the time? He didn't do that well but please look at the price!!!
It's not like we spent £30m like Veron and Shevshenko. He was a spanish international and we still got back £3.5m.
Carson £750,000 great business by Rafa. Worth £3-5m now.
Reina £6m Once again a great deal by Rafa. One of the best tight now.
Gonzales £1.5m For what Rafa paid it was a big chance from the start. You get what you pay for is normally true. Still will make a nice profit from him after only 1 season.
Momo £5.6m good business once again by Rafa.
Good option to have in the squad and if sold would bring in around £10m.
Crouch £7m A great deal by Rafa
For such a small fee for striker I rate Crouch as success during his spell so far at Liverpool. Has scored some memorable goals and has done the stuff internationally also
Bellamy £6m
How can anyone say it's a terrible deal.
We got him well below market value and he helped score some vital goals. Haifa, Barca for example. He was rotated alot and didn't play that many games. Will make a profit of 2-3 million.
Paletta £2m Jury is still out on this one. Hasn't impressed but he's young and was bit of a chance anyway. can't consider it a bad buy yet and if he gets sold for £1-2m it will be almost as if he never was here.
Aurelio free
A good aqusition by Rafa. Did ok his 1st season and he could had done better if not for injuries.
Pennant £6.7m
For that price no way is pennant as poor buy.
He was the best we could afford, end of.
And he has done pretty well still.
Kuyt £9m
He hasn't set the world alight but for a striker at that price he has done well in his 1st season here. If someone expect a world class striker at £9m they need to get their head examined....
Until Rafa get a chance to sign 5-10 players at 15-30 million like our rivals, and then fail, we can start talking about poor signings.

To be fair he's a very good squad player, especially for a free transfer. He was playing pretty well last season until he got injured.
